I think we can all agree that these are the only men who hit KING OF NEW YORK status....

Camron “beat” Nas in their beef in 2002 so I’m trying to figure out the Nas Stan logic of Nas being KONY that year. Nas didn’t sell more either, neither did he have bigger singles.

It will probably spin back to well gods son is a better album, but blueprint is way better than Stillmatic and was significantly more impactful.

I gave Jay King of NY title in 2000 even tho DMX outsold the fukk out of him that year.
Only Jay dropped an album that year.

Your criteria is literally all over the place. You said biggie couldn’t be KONY in 1996 cause he didn’t drop but DMX was a candidate in 2000 with no studio album?

Nas won the beef but he never took the crown. This is evident in the fact that when Jay became President of Dej Jam, Nas was under Jay.

I was also there the night of the "I Declare War" concert when Nas came on stage and deaded the beef with Jay, accepting Jay as the new leader. There are plenty of actual signs that Nas never won the war. We all know he Ethered Hov' but that's just a huge battle that was won. He never finished. The city accepted the victory he got with Ether, but nobody ever considered him KONY. Of course if you're a Nas stan, you automatically have reverence for him as #1, but that doesn't mean the whole city thinks he's the King of New York.

This is a retarded take by the way.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
So Jay holds a concert called "I Declare War"
The whole stage is made to look like the oval office representing his reign as president at Def Jam and also King of New York. This concert was in front of the entire tri-state btw.
Nas comes out to Jay's song that sampled Nas saying he's looking for "President's to represent me"

WTF do you think that was? A surrender after the war unless you both want to continue to play dumb. This is facts. It's on tape. I was there. Everybody in the entire building knew what it was. Keep playing stupid tho.
It was called I Declare War because he initially had the concert that was supposed to be coming at a bunch of nikkas throwing shots at him. He did a bait and switch and peaced it up with Nas. "I Declare War" had nothing to do with the Nas beef. I see u one of the BK Jay Z dikkridin ass nikkas tho. U ain't low. And I'm from Brooklyn too by the way.

Nas didn't have any official battles with Cam. Cam was battling himself. If that's the case. He whooped the shyt out of Jay Z the same way with U Gotta Love It.

Ur stupid. They both dropped end of 99. December. A week apart. Both the albums went into 2000 with the sales and singles. One of the albums sold FAR more. Jay Z did a compilation album at the END of 2000. But thruout the year. DMX was outselling the fukk outta Jay. DMX had Party Up that was going crazy. DMX was doing movies. All kinda shyt. And by the way. I gave Jay 2000. But fukk yall nikkas. Imma give that year to X too just to make yall mad.

He ain't from Brooklyn. Everyone I know around the way (I grew up on Myrtle around the Navy Yard) concedes that battle to Nas

Here's my question about the era. We agree God's Son was more successful than advertised. But was that the album Nas needed to secure a throne? Because I don't think so. It's a more somber, reserved album for obvious reasons (his mom dying) but it wasn't the victory lap people expected. That's why I've always felt like if ever there was an album Nas completed where he should have said "nah we need Premo" it's that one. Put a couple Premo bangers on there, remove Zone Out and things look real different.

Made You Look was the banger that secured Nas on the throne. That song IS his victory lap.

Not to mention I Can became his highest charting single, and earlier in 02 One Mic was getting heavy play. Between Stillmatic’s popularity crossing over into the new year, The Lost Tapes and him closing the year off with Gods Son. Nas should indisputably be KONY for 2002. Gods Son was moved UP in release to a Friday, which at the time was unheard of, due to the hype for a new Nas album.

Camron dissed him and his song was better than anything Nas said to cam.

Dude said he gonna piss on your daughter and you lie and say he has HIV :mjlol:

Takeover is a clearly better song than ether(So is BP2) so I disagree with that “whooping”

Jay buried cam with one bar on Dig a hole so I don’t agree with that either

Only one guy dropped an album in 2000. I was told biggie couldn’t be king of New York because he didn’t drop in 1996, so by that logic Dmx has no case for 2000.

And what’s up with the insults? Why does Jay Z trigger you guys so much? :mjlol:
