I think grime beats are wavy as fukk...they just gotta change flows more and they'd be good.
They do new york rapper shyt like "keep the same pattern up for 16 bars with no variation" over beats that REQUIRE flow changes at least every 4 bars. I think grime is dope as fukk and I enjoy the midwest-esque approach. They need to study more midwest rappers. shyt would be lit if there was a middle ground between grime and late 90s Chicago Mob music...some of that legendary traxster mixed in w/ faze miyake's creative drum patterning and basslines...shyt would be raw

Grime is the real ghetto techno :banderas: man couldnt afford the luxurious sh1t so they decided to use £60 worth of equipment to create classics on classics :wow:
No, grime isn't the real ghetto techno. Techno comes from a real ghetto city named Detroit. An 86% black city filled with nikkas they don't manufacture in london...

It's not really worth discussing grime with 90% of them. It's too different. Some will get it, most won't. Honestly, you gotta be a real musical fiend to get it. For me, it's like getting into Houston hip hop. It's a whole culture to it and it bleeds through the music in every way. 99% of grime was never going to make any real money and everyone knew it but did it anyway. For lvoe, for respect, for their hood, whatever.

:pachaha: I made a point to post the most alienating instrumental i could think of when reading the op...i knew noone would fucc with it on the us side of things...that instrumental is about as 'grime' as it gets...i wasn't posting it for props but to get funny reactions like your post :russ:

really though if you american mandem really want a good and easy way to get into uk grime/rap follow toobluntv on youtube

TooBlunt is an american who built his youtube channel solely off taking requests to listen to uk grime and rap and then post his reactions and reviews and he's blowing up off of it...real humble chill dude as well and he's made videos for the americans on things like how to get past the accents etc...his videos of him showing music in his barbershop>>>>>>

Sidenote

Its kinda disappointing how the average black american is so turned off to trying to understand other experimental forms of black music when you man in detroit created techno and chicago, house

We don't listen to old things we create anymore because we're too busy making new things for foreign nikkas to base their lives off of.
Jungle came from dancehall which came from reggae, which came from American R&B (1930s-40s)
There is nothing under the sun we don't have prints on.
By all means, if y'all can: Create your own music with zero influence from us.

The original grime sound, sounded random as fuk. The funny thing is that there was American HipH0p and R&B songs in the 90's/early 2000's that sounded like grime with more organization.

That's because thats back when Garage was poppin HEAVY in the UK... and they was copying sounds from UK shyt....

It's "organized" as you put it because it's made to cater to U.S. listeners ears..... nikkas in the UK listened to Jungle which is very disorganized at times (to someone who dont fukk with the music).... To you with an American ear Grime sounds disorganized, but not to a nikka from the UK.

Dont forget Grime has a lot of carribean & African influence too.... it's a mixture of a lot of shyt.

Nah, it's the other way around.

Jungle sounds much more organized than Grime

All caribbean music evolved from afram music.
All uk black music evolved from afram music.
American R&B had that sound BEFORE garage was invented.
Ever heard of new jack swing? Our "organized" garage sound was an offshoot of new jack swing with updated drum patterns, taken from people who weren't aware of garage, since they were using those drum patterns on earlier rap records. Please stop.

But if im keeping it 1hunnid i do troll in nearly every grime thread i see on here because the discussions tend to be sh1t.

I will make s thread one of these days covering all the music from '92 hardcore - '15 trap grime though

Im honestly surprised grime is even blowing up like this lol. There was a 3-5 year time period where Black London basically abandoned that genre because it was seen as corny and childish but the rest of the UK stuck with it.

Sorry UK brehs, those grime beats are :scust:

Once they get off those video game sounding terrible drums having corny shyt they'll be taken seriously

I think the flows are actually cool but man most of those beats are straight :trash:

And now that they're trying to ride the southern wave its even worse:trash:

If any UK brehs can lead me towards grime with good production I'll be pleasantly surprised.:ehh:

No. Grime is exactly that. Grime, grimy, unprocessed, horribly mixed, straight :scust:

UK rappers missed out on that EDM wave.... they could eat heavy if they just did dance/house music :ehh:

They just sound weird on trap-southern style production I fukks with Section Boyz

Jungle is an offshoot of DUB...DUB is an offshoot of reggae. Jungle music has dancehall influence.
Dub and all afrobrit/carib music is a DIRECT offshoot of American R&B, modified and accented. It evolved into something that sounds similar to what we do now, but with less "blackness" due to the white environment and tastes of the UK.

In the summer of 1992, a Thursday night club in London called "Rage" was changing format in response to the commercialization of the rave scene (see breakbeat hardcore). Resident DJs Fabio and Grooverider, amongst others, began to take the hardcore sound to a new level. The speed of the music increased from 120bpm to 150bpm, while more ragga and dancehall elements were brought in and techno, disco and house influences were decreased.

What's ragga?
Raggamuffin music, usually abbreviated as ragga, is a subgenre ofdancehall music and reggae, in which the instrumentation primarily consists of electronic music. Similar to hip hop, sampling often serves a prominent role in raggamuffin music.

What's house? What's techno? Oh, music invented by American blacks.
What's R&B? Oh, just more music invented by American blacks? Yes.
