I consider myself a complete outsider to grime, only have an understanding of what to expect from mcs and the beats. I expected some UK Brehs to show me the light on this genre, yet no one has posted ANYTHING worth checking out. :stopitslime:

I know the big names. JME, Skepta, Dizzee Rascal, that's about it. I want to like it, but again, I don't follow along enough to know who's doing what, what is considered dope, ALL I know is now they're biting the trap sound and it's awful. I think the barrier between American audience and grime is the production first and foremost, from what I've heard. I don't mind the accents really at all, it's the corny beats. Maybe what I should have made was a thread asking for the best grime songs. :manny:

There hasn't been real grime production for a number of years.

And yeah, unless you've listened to garage and/or jungle - real grime is going to sound like a PS1 gone mad.

:pachaha: I made a point to post the most alienating instrumental i could think of when reading the op...i knew noone would fucc with it on the us side of things...that instrumental is about as 'grime' as it gets...i wasn't posting it for props but to get funny reactions like your post :russ:

really though if you american mandem really want a good and easy way to get into uk grime/rap follow toobluntv on youtube

TooBlunt is an american who built his youtube channel solely off taking requests to listen to uk grime and rap and then post his reactions and reviews and he's blowing up off of it...real humble chill dude as well and he's made videos for the americans on things like how to get past the accents etc...his videos of him showing music in his barbershop>>>>>>

Sidenote

Its kinda disappointing how the average black american is so turned off to trying to understand other experimental forms of black music when you man in detroit created techno and chicago, house

Grime is the real ghetto techno :banderas: man couldnt afford the luxurious sh1t so they decided to use £60 worth of equipment to create classics on classics :wow:

You don't understand Grime, cause you don't understand it's origins.... Grime comes from hiphop, jungle, and Garage.
Americans wont ever really be on the Grime shyt, cause they didn't grow up listening to the same shyt UK nikkas listened to.

The original grime sound, sounded random as fuk. The funny thing is that there was American HipH0p and R&B songs in the 90's/early 2000's that sounded like grime with more organization.
