I got buyer's remorse from all those textbooks I foolishly bought. Only for the professors to use two chapters out of thousands. To add insult to injury, then you had the buy-back scam that offered you $20 for $100 book. :pacspit:

Honestly, if you have to ask you don't need to know.

:childplease:
The only highly sought after post-college employers that only hire at 5-7 schools are buy side shops that do very limited analyst recruiting

And the more significant ones do resume drops at way more than 5-7 schools

This is exactly what I was referring to. Goldman Sachs is nice, but if you get into Blackstone PE, KKR, Silver Lake or any of those other mega funds as an undergrad :wow:

Baruch feeds about 1-2 analysts a year into front office positions. The rest are in operations, doing mindless shyt no one else wants to do and at the brink of getting laid off.

Also, NYU Arts and Sciences isn't prestigious but Stern is.

Stern isn't prestigious either :youngsabo:

If Baruch feeds 1-2 analysts per year why did I find like three 2012 grads on Linkedin at just one BB :youngsabo:

this may be true for investment banking but i know on the quantitive side especially for nyu they get alot of people into quantitive mid and front office roles in trading, risk, structuring etc. nyu quantitive finance program is one of top ones out there.

Cats in here are really fronting like Econ majors from top schools don't get good gigs? All my boys that did econ got jobs eventually. I mean it didn't compare to my boys in the b-school (not the same support from the administration), but still. Then again, a disproportionate about of my best friends went to top schools.

But I'm still laughing at this ridiculous insinuation (not by you, in here in general) that all these top companies recruit everywhere. Sure they do, but they reach further down in the class at the top schools. Yeah, they might recruit at your school for one of their less desirable positions, but don't be ridiculous. They'e not hiring anyone from there. They are going to see if there is a diamond in the rough.

I mean in 2011, Goldman Sachs took TWO people from Notre Dame and that's one of its top 10 feeder schools and those people came out of the b-school.

Of course they go deeper into the class at top schools :comeon: no one's contesting that

That's just one BB :manny:

There might be more than 3 at that one too I just had a quick glance

3 analysts at even just 1 BB is terrible. My target school sent 24 kids to one BB alone, all in front office roles. You didn't even tell me if these Baruch kids are front office.

Wow, 3 analysts :heh:

In my BB summer analyst class last year, we only had one and he was a diversity hire.

and what were you? tall isreali are you at baruch, don't sweat it just network and get good grades of course. i girl i know went there and now she's an anlayst at blackrock. plenty of people from there get good jobs in finance plus you won't have all that debt to deal with even if you don't.
