There's no reason Steph wouldn't do exactly the same thing in the 80s or 90s, just look at this -

Curry is bigger, faster and stronger than him, all while being able to shoot and create off the dribble better. How physical can you be with a guy that's murdering you from outside the paint? It's not like Curry is driving all the time and you can get hard fouls in on him then.

Mark Price was nice as fukk :lawd:

That was a career night for Price too & he couldn't do that night in night out. In a more physical league back then I don't think he would be be allowed by opposing teams to consistently do what he does. He'd get hammered most nights with refs not blowing the whistle half the time. Also goons would get subbed in just to give hard fouls to prevent him from getting a rhythm.

In 89-90 Mark Price averaged 20 and 9 in this physical era that you're talking about :stopitslime:

How was Mark Price able to survive the murderball era? Yall make it sound like dudes were playing with swords and axes :russ:

I wish this entire warriors team would just fall into a black hole for no other reason so that we can stop getting a steph thread every 5 minutes...

Please stay healthy Swag Antonio and OKC so this Warriors team can be one and done and the coli can become at least a semi tolerable place to talk about sports :mjcry:

I don't quite understand that analogy. Rap is subjective (the importance of words and their definitions are how the listener perceives/relates to them), so the lines can't be parallel to something like basketball, which is defined by numbers. Is Drake really an apt comparison to someone like Curry who's just as skilled as the KRS-One, Rakim, Kool G Rap types of his field? Drake is as skilled as a rapper as Tony Allen is an offensive player.

The role of a PG hasn't changed - it's to orchestrate and move the offense as best as one possibly can - these new types have just found a better way at doing it.
Steph has developed into a pure PG. He's Isaiah with a better jumper. Some of these other dudes in the new "Golden Era of Point Guards" are just midget 2s that aren't long enough to guard wings so they get the PG moniker on their roster profile..

That has inflated the level of greatness in this Era to me. Previously a 6' 3" scorer coming out of college would have the organization lie and say he was 6'4"-6'5". With more rim protectors you could hide those couple of inches on defense.

Now if you're a short nikka you get labeled a 1 no matter your skill set..

:dead: @ Trying to guard Curry 1 on 1 without zone principles in place to at least have 1 man shade his side, put him in the 80s or 90s and he sets the total 3 point record by his 7th season.

There has never been a player that can create off the dribble and shoot the 3 like him, nobody before him could do this.

I definitely don't agree with you there. Zeke was an assassin & could flat out score; especially during crunch time. While he didn't have the kind of long ball consistency as Steph, he could score in different ways & in a more physical league in the 80's. I don't think Steph would be able to do ALL of what he does if he were in the 80's.

Breh, their difference is over 10% TS on more PPG and less minutes. That's like comparing Miami Lebron James to Toronto Rudy Gay.

League was more physical but defensive schemes were far less complex and defenders were a lot less athletic / long as they are now.

Curry is NOT bothered by rough play as people seem to think he is (Dude is tough as nails, mentally) but he's light skin and baby faced so he must not be able to deal with rough play :mjlol:

Delladova was an unsigned player who the Cavs were interested in primarily because he's a tough as nails, dirty defender who will pretty much give everything he has on every defensive play.

He'd fit right in the league back then and Curry was cooking him in single coverage situations.

:troll:

Doesn't him shooting 20+ times a game go against the purity of the position?
He's Isaiah with a better jumper. Some of these other dudes in the new "Golden Era of Point Guards" are just midget 2s that aren't long enough to guard wings so they get the PG moniker on their roster profile..
I'm not talking about those types though. I'm speaking about the ones that actually run or run in a high powered, efficient offense. This is why I've said it's all about finding the most appropriate balance of when to shoot/pass.

If these dudes can actually run an offense equally as efficient (if not more) as your typical PG, what's the difference?

This is the most disrespectful post i have ever read

How can you disrespect zeke like that?

Like youre dead serious :dahell:

Dead fukking serious and I love Zeke (As a player). Hell, he's probably the PG on my dream team (Magic is better, overall, but my dream team fits with Zeke better plus his defense) but he's nowhere NEAR Curry as a scorer.

Wanna argue that Zeke's overall impact is higher than Curry's right now? Sure, I can listen to that because Zeke was an amazing defender, playmaker, and scorer in his own right.

But as a scorer? Curry is better and it's not even a discussion. 10% higher TS despite taking much harder shots, scoring more points, in less minutes, and his range plus great scoring in the paint?
