Curry wasn't as athletic, or fast like KJ was in terms of attacking the rim.

Curry aint yamming over prime dream breh

No doubt. Like I said in my post you quoted, he doesn't finish at the rim as strong or explosive like KJ. But he gets to the rim.

Steph seems to be able to slice through defenses and finish at the rim, but less athletically than KJ would. Steph is not as fast and he can't jump but he's creative in how he gets by defenders and he knows how to finish with finesse off both hands.

A lot of people aren't watching as many games, so they don't see how often Steph gets to the rim or how well he finishes with more athletic defenders on him.

That's similar what I said fam in my post you quoted. KJ could get to the rim a little better is what I said though.

Stephen Curry is a better human being

Definitely agree

If you stopped pigeonholing what a PG's suppose to do, than just maybe, maybe you'd see things differently.
The PG position to me and my n1gga JPlaya is like the "hip hop" "emcee" conversation to some..

You know how some folks can't accept that Drake is an emcee in the same terms as KRS-One or Rakim? Then there's others that say "they all have the occupation of rappers, why would you pigeonhole one of them?"

It just comes down to how you view the importance of words and their literal definitions or traditional roles..

I said all that to call you a Drake Stan

not pigeonhololing just talking about in a classic sense of what a PG is.

How many teams now have PGs leading their teams in shot attempts for game. It has changed drastically from 15-20 years ago to now. That can't be ignored. The game has rules to make smalls even more dominant on the perimeter. Again this can't be ignored or argued against.

Both richard jefferson and lebron can get to the rim as well. You see where i'm going with this.

Their skills attacking the rim are as wide as the difference between steph's shot and Kj's shot.

Their not comparable in any sense IMO

I think this is a function of era and how the game has evolved. You got guys that can handle the ball and facilitate all over the court now, so you really don't need a guy under 6'3 who's main function is to handle the rock and get others involved. You got guys 6'7 who can do that and do the other stuff associated with their size. So smaller guys that can score are being given more of a chance and more freedom.

Also the 3 shot is used as a weapon now. Back in the 80s teams were lucky to shoot 8 threes a game. Now shooting 20 and 30 threes is common. Hell the warriors played a game last year where they shot 40 plus threes.

So these PGs back in the day did not shoot as many 3s. I would love to see a dude like Zeke in this league with the green light to shoot 14 threes a game and no hand checking.

Exactly the zone defense and the fact that you basically can't touch wing players whether they are in the paint or outside the paint.

Best skill set of any point guard? Better than Magic, Zeke, Stockton, Kidd? Yall trippin, man.

Magic couldn't shoot early in his career, but he became a good midrange shooter from '84 and up, and a good three point shooter starting in '89. It's a myth that he couldn't shoot for his career.

Very true and Magic was one of the best free throw shooters in the game. When your team was in the bonus late in the fourth it was over. Cause if you fouled magic it was guaranteed 2 points from the line.

I was more expanding on what you were saying because a lot of people don't see how Curry gets to the rim and finishes. Its easier for someone to say the explosive finisher is the better finisher. Both can be equally good using completely different skillsets.

There is some truth here. But it's about way more than volume with Steph. He shooting a lot and a stupid percentage. And it's not like he's wide open either. This guy drains off balance shots in the face of bigger players with regularity. It's really insane. Zeke wasn't even a shooter like that and even if he was born 25 years later and worked on his shot his whole life, he still wouldn't be able to shoot it like Steph. Physicality would impact him, like most smaller players, but how physical can you get when a guy is 26 feet away from the rim with a quick release?
