I think Jimmy could get his wish if he handled it behind closed doors...and was persistent. Riley is ol skool and stubborn as fukk. Once JB started talking about it in public, Pat dug in.

I dont get the play from either side. Jimmy is getting up there in years and has been injury prone and just plain during the regular season for years. Is showing his ass really gonna make a team commit to him.

As far as Riley goes, you got a depreciating asset. The longer you hold on to it the less value it has. You get nothing for letting him walk.

Tough talk and posturing is cool and all but eventually you gotta actually be smart and think beyond that. I dont see how either side benefits from any of this.

I think he's just trying to circumvent the rule (and corresponding fine) that doesn't allow you to publicly request a trade. He seemed very calculated in his remarks, not emotional like it really was about 'joy.' he's not looking like 97 Shawn Michaels out there. He's an aging star looking for his last ride into the sunset, I am not convinced it's about money so much as it is about winning. Y'all always pointed him some alpha male hyper competitive beast - why is that not a consideration now?
