No. Stringer made moves under the authorization of Avon. That's why when Avon was locked up everybody gave Stringer the stank face when he was bossing them around. Avon said something it was done. String was an assistant manager.
the fukk are talking about

String was bossing nikka around before Avon got locked up

He wasn't friendly like Avon though, that's why he always got sideways looks from nikkas

Partners have say so in the business aspect of things. Anytime something went wrong Stringer was shook to tell Avon. Whenever they needed a new connect he had to ask Avons permission to get with Prop Joe. He was Avons right hand but they were never equal.
he didn't want to tell Avon cause he was a dumb nikka

String knew Avon was on that "take the corners back" bullshyt and String knew if they had better product the fiends would come wherever they were at

String just cared about the money, he didn't give a fukk about the corners like Avon

And he didn't have to ask Avon's permission :snoop:

They were partners so of course you're gonna discuss business moves with each other

Go back and watch season 1 and tell me they wasn't partners

Show me where String needed Avon's permission to make a move or where Avon gives orders to String

String basically ran the business(club and drugs) by himself and Avon handled the muscle/street shyt

Now that I think about it String ran the street shyt too

Avon = Jay-Z
Stringer = Mikhail Prokhorov

Avon was just the face of the organization but we all know who really ran the team

So if Stringer ran it then why didnt he just kill Avon instead of snitching on him? Because the right hand knows if anything happened to Avon the goons wouldve been on his ass. Avon didnt think twice about getting Stringer clapped when it came down to it. Stringer went to see Avon in jail about the connect. Stringer copped pleas to Avon when they took the money after shooting Kima. Stringer copped pleas when Brother Mouzone found out he had East side in the towers.Stringer had resentment towards Avon because they were not equal. Remember how he was sonning D in season one when he demoted him back to the bottom? Or fukking D's girl? Or even killing D. Stringer needed permission from Avon to do damn near everything.

Avon could've let Slim Charles "holler" at Clay D over that money but he didn't cause he was happy that stringer failed. Misery loves company.
No! Avon didn't let it happen because it was an EXTREMELY Stupid idea and string was being emotional because he got played.
Trying to assassinate a fukking state senator would bring enough heat to send everybody to jail.

The thing I don't understand about the wire is.... they never tried to go after the greeks beyond season 2.

And maybe it was because they were in west Baltimore but... How the hell didn't Lester and them find about about the co-op :mindblown: Prop Joe was the one they should've been going after. I guess they really only cared about the murders

Them nikkas had FEDS on their payroll. There isn't much to go after, after realizing that :ld:

So are you saying in a sense Marlo was smarter then Bell? Seeing that he knew the game and said naw, I'm good.

That's how I saw it. Marlo almost instinctually knew that world wasn't for him. He wouldn't be able to dominate in it. So he rushed right back to the streets where his name and rep and skillset meant something.

First of all, it was the Barksdale crew, Avon was definitely the boss and they made that clear when Avon comes home.

However, Avon did think hard on letting String get clapped up. And it's an important distinction that he let him get clapped rather than had him clapped. If canceling String was nothing to Avon he would've merked him after finding out he killed D'Angelo without consent.

They were brothers, they came up together as damn near partners, but Avon was the boss and the decision to betray each other weighed heavy on both.

It's pretty subtle (mostly because Wood Harris kills that scene), but Avon agrees with what Stringer did re: D'Angelo.

Ehh, he may see Strings reasoning, but he didn't approve of that shyt. In fact, I'd argue that that revelation is what allowed him to give up his brother to Omar and Mouzone.

Yeah, but not out of loyalty to D'Angelo, more out of recognizing Stringer's disloyalty to him.

the writer's actually spoke on this... marlo just wanted the power.. he never cared about the money, or the bytches, or anything else.... he was in love with power

string wanted the money.. he was happy to be rich and not go to jail... so getting rich in real estate as a nobody was just as good as being rich as the king...

avon was more like marlo... fukk that other shyt.... he wanted to be on top..

"the king stay the king"

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
Avon was the fukking king, fukk what you heard. The soldiers rode for Avon, "if its a lie, we fight on that lie" He had the respect, and the street smarts to be the boss of what they where building and built. Stringer was all about going legitimate and moving away from that life, but he was always jealous of Avon and the respect that the streets showed him, Avon lived by the code. Stringer tried to flex, to show he was Alpha, but he always ended up going extra and in doing what he thought was "boss" shyt with absolutely no tact or street smart instincts, and he always ended looking like a fool with money.
Avon liked the money, but he loved the life, Stringer loved the money, thought he could conquer the life cause he had the money, ended up where he deserved to be, dead
