3 4th round picks Eagles just need to not fukk these up
Adam Schefter cites the coronavirus pandemic while explaining why the Eagles drafted Jalen Hurts
“Now in this day and age, I’ve had teams tell me it’s more important than ever to have a backup quarterback in this pandemic. We’re going to be playing next year, coronavirus is out there, COVID-19, what if your quarterback gets the virus? It’s an interesting situation here. I think there are more problems than ever before. And so I think teams are looking up to sure up the most important position in the sport. And that’s why the Eagles did it.”
Bru let that Hill shyt go its BS. That's. Just fluff, Hurts is here in case they wanna move on from wentz. People have selective memory when it comes to Wentz he is up and down.injury prone and not The best leader , you think its a coincidence they took some one who is the complete opposite2017 Nick Foles was an experienced veteran QB already familiar with Doug Pederson and the general offensive system that he ran. Pederson scouted Foles in 2012 and also worked with him in 2016 as OC in Kansas City. On top of it all, 2017 Foles came onto a stacked team, with a Top 5 offense and defense, to a coaching staff that already understood who he was as a player and how to scheme around his weaknesses and maximize his strengths. Also, we didn’t waste premium picks on him.
Jalen Hurts is an inexperienced rookie QB who has never taken starter reps in the NFL, and will not be taking them in 2020 because Wentz is still the starter. To my knowledge, he is not familiar with Doug Pederson or the general offensive scheme that he runs. On top of that, Hurts will not be coming onto a team with a stacked offense and defense. He will be coming onto a team whose most productive receivers were two tight ends and a running back, and whose secondary gave up more big plays than any other in the NFL.
I’m not even saying that Hurts will be a bad player, I don’t know what he’ll be in the league, but he’s a huge gamble that the team took in lieu of using that premium pick on someone who could actually help make the Eagles better.
If this were 2019, and the Eagles were coming into the draft with a team presumably set at its most important positions, I’d wouldn’t be as frustrated as I am now. I’d still think it was a reach, but at least I wouldn't see the consequences for that reach being as bad as they are now. But you need those high picks. Statistically speaking, most starters are found in the 1st and 2nd Rounds of the draft. We made one pick (Reagor) to make the team better.
No he's not. It's not even close. His arm talent and ability to read defenses isn't in the same vicinity as Wentz was coming outBecause truth be told coming outta college he is just a good a prospect as wentz ,
