I wouldn’t be surprised if we flip Zach Ertz this season if we don’t come to terms on a long term contract. Goedert is ready to take that next step, we’re in the negative already for next year, and Ertz wants more money.

Man I hope we don't continue the trend of digging ourselves into a hole early cause that Seahawks,GB and then saints stretch gonna be brutal

But as a Californian native, those Rams and 9ers game gonna have some extra meaning to me
Its too bad that LA game is not in LA, because we take over the stadium whenever we play out there
:russ:

Trading Zach this season would create a bigger cap hit than keeping him, so he's not going anywhere yet. Next season is when it becomes realistic, and I think it depends on Goedert this year.

If Dallas really takes that next step and puts himself in position to ask for Kittle/Kelce money I don't think they have a choice, you gotta go with the TE who's 5 years younger. If Dallas is solid but not spectacular than they can try and extend him at a team friendly deal and entertain the idea of keeping both.

The Ertz situation is so tricky because he is Wentz number one target but as great as he is- he is basically a big WR and I think he wants to be paid that way. Goedert isnt the route runner Ertz is- but you can do so much more with him in terms of blocking as a FB, lining up in the slot, lining up inline- used as an Hback- these are all things he did at South Dakota. The eagles really need someone young to challenge Ertz as a go to target- whether its Goedert or Reagor or Hightower (maybe a stretch)
