Word is he's been talking to the Chargers & Redskins all offseason but really wants to come back to Philly. If he's back on a discount I can't really complain about Dillard getting one more year to learn from a HOFer:ehh:

I want Dillard to play. Peters gets hurt too often. If anything, I'd prefer Peters is the backup LT & LG at a discounted rate.

Then I told him you’re 60 years old, you’re not married, you have no wife, no kids, no nothing, you need to f*cking do something instead of worrying about what we are doing all the time. Then he said “come to my office” and that was the day I retired.”

:picard::dead: that ether. Damn

I didn't think Peters was very good last year and wouldn't be too excited to see him back playing as an eagle. I dont like saying that because it feels disrespectful to an all time great, but it's just my take
By every metric that grades OL Peters was a top 10 LT last season, i think what gave you and others the impression that he wasn't good were the flags (tied for 8th most with 7 other OL), and the weekly injury exits.

John McMullen broke it down -- said Howie wants to take the Belichick approach and give Dillard the job rather than try and squeeze one more year out of Peters, but Lurie sees JP still out there begging to come back and doesn't want to say no since he can still play at a high level. It's a tough situation.
