I get what you tryna say. They, the WNBA, dont even carry themselves as the premier women’s bball league in the world salary wise, not even close, even tho they have the money too. They need more talent from overseas but if they not willing to pony up financially, they’ll ALWAYS be second tier even in womens basketball.

“In the WNBA, the maximum income a player could earn in 2016 was $109,000. For Russia that number tripled to $325,000 per season. While in China that number triple-doubled to $600,000 per season. As a result, almost three-quarters of WNBA players were playing for teams overseas.”

“The result was a huge step in the right direction. WNBPA president Nneka Ogwumike and the players did a phenomenal job negotiating the latest the CBA, bringing the WNBA maximum base salary up to $215,000 in 2020. That’s a $97,500 increase from the previous year! Though, it’s worth nothing, that even that new maximum is still a fraction of the millions that top women’s players earn overseas in Russia, China, and Turkey.”

They need to pray to Bezo's Ex-Wife and hope she's feeling generous and donates money or something, because no serious investors will get involved in the league that loses money. I think overseas they have billionaires that do it for shyts and giggles and bragging rights, not even expecting to make money.

704. Formerly 212 and 843.
Look at the Gonzalez twins..... they're wasting their prime years of athleticism to do everything BUT play professional basketball.....cause it brings in more money to be a pretty face that plays pickup basketball and promote things on IG and tiktok.

Deep down, that's why they're mad...... not because they're underpaid ( cause they're not).... it's cause they don't know how to compete in an environment where people are making millions of dollars on social media.

The Gonzalez twins don't the skills to play in the WNBA and they were bench players in college There's nothing stopping them from playing overseas like other players who aren't going enough to join the WNBA. The problem is even though can make more playing professional overseas than the WNBA, playing professionally overseas over there isn't sold as living the glamorous life and isn't social media friendly.

What possible reason would they have to do that other than some corrupt deal with the NCAA though?
The theory is if you make women’s college basketball popular those fans will follow the players to the WNBA but that hasn’t happened so far

The WNBA as well

I don't see how they benefit from it?

So they don't have to pay the players while they are developing?

If I'm a die hard UConn fan and then one of my favorite players gets drafted by Seattle I might tune in to some games but I probably won't become a Seattle fan I'll just stan the next UConn star.

The WNBA needs all the help they can get even though it hasn’t worked out for them. I just think the WNBA is toast
