jesus christ you nikkas in here looking down on others for not listening to artists like eminem or tie etc etc like you lot discuss hip hop on here seriously?

fukk outta here

and really, get thee fukk out of here telling someone they aren't a hip hop head because they haven't heard artist a or b's musics. You ever heard of a thing called personal taste. If someone decided they didn't want to listen to an eminem album because of the singles (when eminem only made them for sales) who can blame them. 90% of his singles are absolute shyt

I'm not gonna put in 90% of 90's southern music just to 'gain knowledge' an look like a real hip hop head cos I know that shyt don't move me. Same thing for the folks in this thread
Who said he wasn't a hiphop head? I'm questioning WHY a hiphop head wouldn't give the biggest MC 1 hour to see what the hype was about. Why his favorite artists have so much respect for him and on. I fukking hate E-40, he's wack as fukk but I had to listen to him cause he's such a legend in the bay so when I went out there I had to download the click and his 2 highest recommended albums just for the flight. nikkas would rather spend 1 hour on a thread on the coli talking about they haven't heard Eminem, than just listening to the album, doesn't make any sense.

And MMLP had 3 singles
The real slim shady (wack), The way I Am & Stan (dope as fukk).

When I was younger I used too listen to eminem. At that age I didn't know about rhyme schemes or even noticed them. Just bumped his shyt cause :manny:

Now though :scusthov: I feel like a fukking clown. Just can't relate to someone rapping about "white america" or "my moms a bytch I'll rape her"

I can relate to someone going through struggles and doing what they have to do to feed their family and survive in the world they were born and raised in.

I don't think people respect Eminem cause they relate to him, but because he's one of the best technical rappers of all time, cause he had funny satirical commentary on entertainment and current events and on. Not a single person in the world can relate to SSLP. But as far as Em not going through struggles and doing what he could to survive, he's got plenty of those joints.

Who am I to say this?
Who is anyone to say anything about any rapper on here :beli:

Eminem was the biggest rapper and arguably best (according to a lot of people, even credible people) in the world between 99-02. Now if you claim to love hiphop that much, how the fukk could you not give one of his highly recommended albums 1 chance? The fukk is that. Just like if you love movies, how can't you give Martin Scorsese 1 chance?
You can't hate before you give shyt a chance. nikka doesn't even know his illest tracks, if you haven't listened to his album. Cats can sit on sohh and bullshyt for hours, but they can't take 1 hour to listen to see what the highest selling rapper of all time has got to offer? fukk outta here. Only in hiphop will this type of nonsense not only get a pass but respect

This is not about Eminem, if you haven't heard a Pac album, Jay-z, Nas, Biggie not only the most highly recommended but the biggest rappers I'll shake my damn head. Now if you haven't heard a EPMD album, that's understandable 1. you might be too young 2. they weren't that big.

And.......are you really going to use the argument "if you love hip hop so much??".....please.......what the fukk kinda logic is that??..........who really gives a shyt if he was hip hop's#1 selling artist??.......his music isnt for everybody.....its not like he is hip hop's savior and I already stated that I thought his mixtape shyt with 50 was his best work IMO.....a full album by Eminem is not something my ears can handle and others share the same views.....so dont try and come off as some elitist when nikkaz like myself dont put him on a pedestal.......and for the record EPMD was big......

There is a lot of people on here who hasn't listened to one album from the highest selling rapper, I wonder what else cats haven't listened to, interesting. I'm starting to doubt the hiphop knowledge of cats on here, seems like mad random people with limited interest in hiphop are on these shyts these days. All cats wanna do is talk about their favorite rapper, diss rappers, talk about clowns and certain rappers private lives and twitters. :smh:

Man shut that shyt up. There are ALOT of hiphop heads who dont fukk with Em like that. Apparently there's a WHOLE DEMOGRAPHIC of hiphop listeners that ur not even aware of

I know on the SSLP he has Rock Bottom and If I Had.:ohlawd: Those were my favorite songs of his growing up. I don't know man now I try and play his albums but it just leaves a real bad taste. He has a few songs I know on one of his last albums he had that song "Deja Vu" that I enjoyed but for the most part it's too strange bordering on Horrorcore which I can only take in small doses.

His voice I don't know something about him just sounds so forced and lame. The sound's going in my ears and my brain is like :stop: While technically he might be a real skilled emcee I just can't like his music if you do good for you but it literally does nothing for me :skip:

"Elitist" and Eminem doesn't belong in the same sentence.
And I don't care who or what you put on a pedestal, it's not about Eminem it's about the biggest rapper, it's about a highly recommended rapper, it's about a rapper that's extremely loved by most rappers obviously including the dude in your picture. Not 1 chance? smh.

And yeah EMPD were "big", Gold was their most successful shyt which is about 20 times less than Eminems most successful shyt.

Some of you hipster cacs try too hard to shyt on Eminem to distance yourself from the "typical white hip hop listener".

Hes overrated but MMLP and Eminem Show are good albums.

Yep like I said I was into him in my younger days when I didn't really know about music or the internet like that. Just bumped whatever was around. I stuck with Em all the way up to Encore and like I said at that time maybe because of my age I was able to listen to it but now that I'm older the music is just too immature. I know the main focus should on the rhymes and technical skills it's not enough for me to overlook the lyrical content :yeshrug:

Biggest selling artist...

If anything I take that as a negative. I sort of listened to Carter 2. Had the MP3s in a pool of joints I had DLed and was rating one by one on my iPod. Took me a straight year to listen to all the albums I "was introduced to" on SOHH.

Based on my taste, none of the material from that LP made my 4-5 star playlist. I would have assumed the same before I got started. I use this example becuase it wasn't like I was choosing one album to critique, they were coming up randomly over the course of at least weeks.

I didn't think I would like Reasonable Doubt that much - wasnt thinking about JZ aka Jaz' little man at the time. Nothing provoked me to cop for years. Got a copy. Liked about 3 songs. Was not at all surprised.

For the record I would say the Wu is the single best representation of my aesthetic. I am from NC and I am African mixed with Indian and European: what y'all call Black
