The budget rumors were wrong. It was actually a 50 Million budget not 100 Million. Will took a pay cut and backend money. Looking like an under 30 Million weekend. But still solid for the genre and budget. Will just needs to get on his Action Blockbuster ish and he will be back. It's still going #1 so that's another #1 hit for him. "Suicide Squad", "Concussion" then hopefully "BAD BOYS III".
Good. Tell that nikka to use all that wealth and influence he amassed through the years and put a young talented black woman on, not some white girl who doesn't need the look.
I obviously know he didn't direct or write the movie, but it's time for these brothers with pull to go do their own thing at least sometimes and make some independent moves.

Deadline is saying it's probably going to come in a tad below studio estimates...kingsmen on the other hand continues to do really well. Maybe now studios won't be so chicken about putting more R rated action flicks out

more R rated especially for horror and action.
Its not so much that they're chicken, its just that they need to justify a profit due to inflated budgets by wringing every cent out of a project with the PG-13/IMAX/3-D arrangment. I would like to see an "event" R rated action film with a $150-$200M budget, but the next time that'll ever happen is "Bad Boys 3".
That's what I meant by chicken but you're right it's probably not the right word to use because it's not really their fault.
Prometheus 2 will be that too although I'm not enthused to see it but that'll be out before bad boys 3, which to me has the potential of being ghostbusters 3 in the sense that one person keeps beating the drum for it and it's a script that is constantly being worked on meaning the movie is stuck in development hell right now

It's not Wills fault per say, unless he didn't even suggest a black actress like he suggested Halle for Hitch. Studios are iffy about putting black couples on screen.
But you are 100% correct, look at the success of Empire it's the dynamic of Taraji and Terrance that people love, especially Taraji. Look at the success of Scandal, HTGAWM, Being Mary Jane. Black women are supporting other black women.
If they had put Nicole Beharie in this I'm guessing it would pulled in around 40 mill.
