I learned after working on Wall Street to revel in both your blackness and at their disdain and discomfort in your presence. Make it equally awkward.
100% agree. Its like when they pop an semi racist joke I always laugh the loudest and top it off with something sarcastic like
Gaddammit no wonder the NYPD fires 50 times

Usually kills the entire joke.

Doing this type of shyt makes it ways easier than trying to fit in, just as long as your producing. It makes the time go by too and they'll learn to stop fukking with you in order to not look stupid.

In my experience with speaking with hiring managers and supervisors, they know when they're exploiting their personnel. They know that these people are unhappy or are being mistreated, but they also know that a lot of times they're only paying people enough to cover their basic expenses and maybe a little more for occasional leisure/entertainment activities. Those people are a reliable workforce, because even if they're unhappy, their managers know that they HAVE TO WORK. They need the income. And outside of extraordinary circumstances, those people aren't making enough to save the amount of money needed to battle the uncertain time frame of finding the next lucrative position.

When you know your subordinates are unhappy, but you choose not to make things better (and its within your ability), I truly believe that to be evil. Sadly, I believe that to be a majority of the American workforce.

You should expose the racism in an annonomous letter. It could easily go Viral and if the company is noteworthy the media would probobly run with it as well.

Be specific, just not specific enough to give yourself away. Force them to acknowledge their racist culture

:skip: Yeah, considering they employ so many black people they'd never figure out who wrote the letter

Ask yourself - if you were working at a Japanese, Middle Eastern, Nigerian, Singaporean, or German multinational, would you experienced a similar working environment?
Edit
Most likely you would any time that you're in the minority. Probably much worst in those countries. It's not right of course, but stop being a bytch and don't go tucking your tail in and running away. They're waiting for you fukk up or leave and say "Yeah he was never cut out for this." Understand the realities of tribalism, make it work for you and invest in your own company later on. Then you can hire whoever you want where you will most likely behave in the same exact way they treated you lol. And the circle continues.

My current manager is nice on the outside but the way she schedules for fukking part-time is calculated. It does make it hard to look for another position and GOD those interview calls start rolling in. I have an interview Wednesday and GOD knows I need it to escape this burden but I will still keep it and just work weekends.

Great thread brehs :wow: I always wanted to work in IB after I wanted to be a lawyer, then I realized I really just want money and not prestige. Then I discovered trading :wow:

As top OP, I'd say quit and start over somewhere else. It would be a waste of your personality and talent to continue on in a place where your imput isn't given its proper value.

@Asantehene nikka stop changing your name :dahell:

Terrible post, stop making excuses for racism. What you're saying here is "yeah my people are racist, but their less racist than these people!!"

Not only is OP West African, but he lives and works in Germany so 2 out of your 5 asinine comparisons are erroneous.

I do this often at work. I've at realized that people will talk to me however they want so I might as well talk however I want.

One coworker that has been at my job for 8 years kept on giving me shyt, not in an offensive way but he was on my ass about work. So lunchtime is almost here and I ask my Team Captain if I can leave 3 minutes early so I can have my full lunch since it takes time to walk to the break room. Other dude buts in like "no, you can't go until it's the exact time" I looked at him and said "well I wasn't speaking to you, I was speaking to him". My TC was like "you can go" :yeshrug:

So he's Nigerian. What is he, Igbo, Yoruba? Ask him how his family feels about the Fulani and the like and whether they hire them in their business. As a Nigerian he should understand tribalism first hand. Then there is the type of industry he works in, full of d!cks. Now what is he going to do about it? He could follow your advice and find a better situation, different industry, with more enlightened people, who knows. I'm just not the type to run away, welcome challenges and have thick skin. I would savor that situation he's in to see how I could maneuver. And i am not white by the way.
