Yes, there are ALOT of black women in our PR and people management too. And OPS and Admin roles.

Education and Liberation are 2 different things my brother....Tell your seeds to have more respect for the latter
i been Power Banking for going on 2 months now...i only write loans at the moment...hopefully soon i will be closing as well.....i was an associate for a lil minute too
honestly my nikka @Theraflu what did you expect?
i can say its a decent amount of black bankers where I'm at...but its still not a lot overall....its even worse cuz I'm far from a "happy-go lucky/kumbaya" type nikka...so they be tryna judge me from far away but i peep, i know better doe
but anyways.... you should have known beforehand it was gonna be like this
real talk I'm surrounded by some white boys thats straight sharks,I'm sure you are too...shyt aint no joke my nikka....this shyt is hard and stressful....but you gotta be able to adjust to survive :mynikka: i actually love this sales shyt though, i think we talked about this before bro, this might be a young nikka calling
still you can't have no emotions doing this...if you feeling some type of way...you might as well pick another career.... point blank period bro.... plus I'm sure you know this as well...so whats the point of asking the Coli knowing most of these dudes are lames(no diss to the cool/real nikkas on the coli)
besides banking/sales is a numbers game....only so much another person can do to throw you off....you gotta be about that hustle my nikka
so my advice.....get off the Coli and just go hard or quit......plus you shouldn't even have time to make a thread like this get that money nikka...you should always be writing/closing
ill log back in when I'm chilling at the crib bro i gotta dip off real quick
he probably just loves the capital markets and would've loved to stay in I-Banking. Can't blame himMost people who enter IB have an exit strategy, same as biglaw.
You fukked up thinking you were gonna do this forever.
I had a couple of rental houses....It was a major headache.

I'd feel the same way about M&A but I guess its just not a healthy climate for black folks regardless.
Do you know any Black traders whether at a bank or hedge fund? I'm kind of curious if the lifestyle is any different being that you trade an account and don't have to deal with clients?
Depending on how comfortable I was with her and leaving in the short term I'd have a heart to heart with her and discuss myfuture at the firm / her experiences. As a VP i'm guessing shes either one or two steps below MD so shes risen quite a bit. She'd be able to give you the best appraisal of how it is at the top and you can determine just how necessary its gonna be for you to leave. But I'm guessing you already know it isnt for you.Hi breh, i and the female VP are actually v close, she comes and goes between this office and our NYC office. She's the one who helped me find my mentor. She's really cool.
the problem with this is clientele. On top of that he has experience mainly in Equity Capital Markets and has said clients hate blacks. How many multi-million dollar...BLACK or LATINO owned businesses that are looking to go public? I cant think of one instance that I saw a black person in a group ringing the bell of the NASDAQ or NYSE for an IPO. It's a sad reality breh.Build a network while working at that IB. Then start your own boutique investment bank and only hire blacks/spanish people.
They beat you. You let them break you. You made it that far, and now you want to pack it up and leave. Even worse, you discourage others from joining that industry. You should be ashamed of yourself. You could have been the Jackie Robinson of banking. But you wilted.
