I dont think the shyt posted on here will be rapped over in 10 years by the new wave of rap artists like classic instrumentals from the 90s are. nikkas still tacklin Dead Presidents, yall really think someone in 10 years will take a beat from TM 101 to freestyle over? You cant believe that the likes of Mike Will or Mustard will create a trap close to the timelessness of anything Premo, J dilla, Large Pro, or Pete Rock have. I think a lot of the new guys got talent, dont get it twisted, but it cant be done.

Post a video of a drummer emulating a trap rhythm then.

The shyt is robotic that's why a person can't emulate it
doesn't mean it sounds better
live drummers never play the same shyt the same anyway

Live drummers dont really try to emulate trap because the whole sound of 'trap' is based off the 808 kick and the electronic high hat sound... thats just intrinsic to the sound of trap... even if you play a trap beat on a live kit it will sound completely different different.. trap is not a complex drum pattern... its very straight forward kick and snare, alternating with a standard 16th note high hat with a burst of 32nd or 64th notes high hats... if it was doing some kinda syncopation or polyriythm or something at that speed would be difficult or impossible but its basically a drum roll on the high hat...

Here are some samples of fast drumming, all way harder to play than trap drumming, and generally faster...

sounds pretty boring really but he is a continuous stream of 64th note snares with an accept on certain snare notes and a bass note pattern

this is probably the most similar... he is hitting a drum pattern with rapped bursts of drum rolls on the high hats... got to let him cook for a minute...

the drum pattern on show me what you got his sicker than them played out generic snare rolls

that drumming is just wack, no flare

this is sick drumming

TM 101 is :trash:

But I imagine there'll be an influx of children neggin me and talking about how it's classics blah blah blah.

Even if TM 101 had great beats, which it doesn't, that can't be your only example. Can it? And we're a long ass way from those beats.

How can anyone hear Metro Boomin/London on da track/Zaytoven and think "yeah, this is gonna last. This means something."

y'all been brainwashed to think that cheesy shyt was hot.

I don't mind if you like TM101. But let's not pretend it was this instantly-loved album. It just wasn't. I was there. I know it was big for the kiddies who need something shallow and 'dangerous' to bump after PE class but I was in college then. We were not blasting this shyt AT ALL. Heads I knew didn't give 2 fux about this record.

We were busy playing Jay-Z, DOOM, 50, Nas, Foreign Exchange and shyt like that.

:ohhh:

I don't have a technical knowledge when it comes to beats. So you think the lack of soul in trap comes from the hi hats?

Personally, trap beats are just trash. Dull instrumentation, dull groove.

So you have no basic music theory knowledge yet argue and critique music and want us to take your opinion seriously
