I both have this issue, and don't have it.
It doesn't effect my dating, but it does effect my dating potential.
I've had women I'm getting close with talk about height requirements, which usually lets me know I need to move on quickly.
Though I did end up with a woman who was like 6'2 (I'm only 5'7-5'8)
The only women who should be turning down short men are incredibly above average height women.
That's just how I feel though, work on your confidence, you'll do fine.

There are options for you, and they're not bad.
Be personable, have a personality that gets people to want to get to know you.
You stop thinking about your height after a while.
