WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. —

The Miami Dolphins’ home opener was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma.

Owner Stephen Ross is now flying players, coaches, team staff and all their families to safety, according to a team tweet Friday night.

The tweet says he is flying all of them to Los Angeles. There is a video that shows numerous families waiting to board a chartered plane.

The tweet ended with “Our thoughts [and] prayers are with everyone in Florida.”
