independant artists really have always had to grind for that spot ,its unbelievable how labels have this shyt blocked off where if your not signed you cant get played smh :beli: ,it’s sad how people today be faking being independent also

I once had a direct connection to XXL magazine. He literally told me I couldn't get a review or mention or anything unless I was signed to a major record label. This was around 2006.

It's cool tho, I pushed through and earned spots in Vice magazine twice, Hip Hop Connection etc

Persistence over resistance.

I wonder why they had to change the story to have ghost and rae beefing at first. From what I read they were actually friends since high school.
Their crews were beefing. It's just tv dramatization to make their friendship more impactful to the viewer. Like when Rae saw the bullet holes in the wall at ghost's crib was a good tv moment.

Mook, Ghost and Rae runnin game
I wonder why they had to change the story to have ghost and rae beefing at first. From what I read they were actually friends since high school.

They knew each other before that, but their crews were in a major beef. The shootouts happened, Ghost robbing their crew happened (he was a stick up kid),Ghost's mom house being shot up happened but Rae & Power wasn't necessarily the ones that pulled the trigger - TV dramatization. But even chillin at RZA's spot, Rae said he'd always be watchin Ghost from the side of his eye because of their beef. Rae has spoken on it vaguely, RZA, Popa Wu...other dudes, but Ghost has never really told those stories. They ended up vibing just being around each other and with RZA...and watchin movies and making music...as did the whole Clan.

Mook told the record store story on the Mics & Men docs. It's great that now he's in the fold...being that he's also a consultant. So next, will we see the Chessboxin Masta Killa verse...with KP? U-God is being portrayed something lovely, as well. What do y'all say - at least 2 more seasons, realistically?
