You didnt like the GFK and Rae actors? I thought they did good, especially the dude that played Ghost. I thought RZA was cast horribly.
The dude playing Ghost threw me at first because he don’t sound nothing like Ghost, but he actually is pretty good to watch and he does kinda look like a young Ghost.

the dude playing Rae sounds just like Rae, but he is like a slim version, which I’m fine with.

Mef and Deck were casted good but aren’t really in it much. Same with GZA

Divine and ODB were cast perfectly. Every time they are on screen they steal the scene.

The funny thing is the dude playing RZA, the central character of the whole shyt, just doesn’t seem anything like RZA. But that might also have something to do with how it’s written. RZA in real life was a lot more live and loud back then. The character seems more based on how RZA is now compared to how he was back then.

A lot of people including myself feel this way. Dude is wayyyyy too laid back and quiet to be RZA, who was very personable and authoritative. One of my only real gripes with season one is the way RZA is portrayed is NOT like a dude who could bring together all these diverse and street tough individuals (some whom wanted to kill one another) into a group and convince them to put their lives in his hands.

I really think it is because Rza wants to portray himself as peaceful and shyt. Which is in line with who he is now. But the ruggedness he had back then is missing. Like I can’t even imagine that Rza in the show rocking platinum fangs or being part of the Gravediggaz. Rza has said a bunch of times they changed a lot of shyt for the show but it seems like they changed his whole steez.

but I did enjoy seeing the “we love you Rakeem” rollout. That was cool.

I enjoyed that also
Really I love the whole show. It was one of my favorites from last year and I felt it was REALLY well done.

My only big issue was the RZA characterization. I get that he himself had mellowed out with age but thats why CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT is an important aspect of these things. To show where he was and how he ended up where he is now. It just kind of bugs me because it seems very unrealistic how the actor portrays young RZA as somebody these wild nikkas would fall in line for.

Other than that the show is top quality

Not feeling dude who play rza...he acts the same in every movie he’s in

Even RZA ain't really feeling dude's portrayal of him. He was on the Big Boy radio show and they asked him how he feels about how breh is portraying him and Rizz was on some :patrice:

He then went on to say that his wife told him the kid's doing a good job :manny:

I feel like most y'all feel: dude sucks. Joey Badass shoulda been RZA.

Crazy because he was in Judas and the Black Messiah and I felt he broke out of that. He was a lot more authoritative like people say RZA was back then.
I just read that RZA actually told him not be play it authoritatively because he grew into the role of being the leader and he didn’t start as the leader. So it actually makes a bit more sense why he played it like that. 2nd season will be a good watch and interesting to see if they expand on his leadership.

thinking back though I hope they have more ODB in the next season. The dude playing him was killing it and deserves more shine
