Just finished this. Series was cool...not great and flawed as hell but I was entertained. The pacing was a little slow but this was more about showing their lives and what made them instead of just being a behind hte scenes kinda show. That being said, they could cut some of the family stuff, that was dragging a bit.

Casting for the most part is alright...the only one I really think is bad is WZA....he doesnt get RZA across at all...no presence at all. The dude playing Ghost does ok even tho he doesnt really look like GFK....none of the other cast members irk me besides WZA

looking forward to Season 2, hopefully they don't get the story bogged down in OH...like maybe 2 episodes and then get into the formation of the group with them starting to cut 36 Chambers by mid season. Season 3 should be the first series of solos and Wu Forever

Yup I bailed on this shyt

The casting and wardrobing was trash and the pace was too slow to me
What? The wardrobe was perfect for 90-91. I get people not liking the pacing, but that's just RZA. He's not fast food at all.

Ghost casting initially bothered me, but he had the mannerisms down enough, and the attitude, that I ended up buying into. RZA was the only casting that bothered me, simply because he doesn't have RZA's gravitas. He has a lot of the mannerisms, but not that quiet but commanding talk, and doesn't even come across as the eccentric genius that RZA is. He fails on 9/10 fronts.

its not bad, but none of the characters with the exception of Devine, ODB and Meth resemble the people they're supposed to be portraying so far. Raekwon is not even fat and breh playing Ghost looks nothing like him.....

and I think they got some rican dude playing U God smh...

the kid playing ODB needs to win an emmy for his performance, he's the only one taking it seriously really

Enjoyable none the less after the first episode at least

Nah...a breh earlier in the thread said it was a dude named Poppy who Raekwon referenced on a track...I thought the same thing initially...just finished myself...dope series...I was tight at the finale until I realized they were approved for a 2nd season...I could definitely envision 4 seasons

Lol no it’s not. It’s about the nuances.

For example somebody was wearing a purple Marmot biggie coat y’all wasn’t wearing those in the late 80’s and early 90’s.

If you want to see elite wardrobing and capturing of that era go watch Ava’s When They See Us

Raekwon and Method Man was good casting. Those GFK and Rae actors. :scust:

You didnt like the GFK and Rae actors? I thought they did good, especially the dude that played Ghost. I thought RZA was cast horribly.

I can tell you I had a lot of the styles seen on the show then. For '90-'91, you had the jumper that "ODB" had on, "Rae" & "Power" entire wardrobe, a lot of the Lo rugbys & sweaters. "Ghost" and his shirts are perfect for 91. There should be a few more Fat Gooses, a few Starters, Yo Baby Yo, & Boss tees...The only thing I'm really seeing off are some of the sneakers. There should be some more Reebok Pumps, more Nike Trainers, Air Max 90s, Top Tens, some Chucks,..maybe some Eastlands. The sneaker maybe '93, but this is supposed to be '90/'91. The styles were changing so fast in the early-mid 90s. If you had it for school last year, it wasn't in for next year.
