This take is completely wrong IMO.

It's not that they don't care about their own economic self interest, it's that they see anything that helps outgroups (minorities, immigrants, etc.) as hurting them.

They aren't voting against their self-interest so much as they just have a warped view of what's actually in their economic self-interest.
I literally said THEY DON'T VALUE IT as much.

How is what you said any different than this?

I dont know why people like to play coy when we have these discussions. Time and time again people vote against their own economic self interest because they don't value it as much.

What's up with all these dishonest post. :mjlol:

"It's not that they're voting against their own self interest. They just don't know what their self interest should be?"

Come on guys. These people know what they're doing and choose otherwise. :mjlol:

this is what bothered me so much about Bernie Sanders running for president. Black voters have been voting for the most economically and socially progressive measures since time immemorial. And yet the people holding it back or not a sliver of black votes, it’s the majority of white voters who do not even vote for Democrats much less even moderate Democrats. It’s always been conservative white people. So when Bernie keeps chasing after white people who aren’t even voting for him, I really have to wonder what they keep thinking this magic strategy of appealing to needs that they know aren’t being met, but are better served by ignoring black peoples larger political acknowledgment and inclusion. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
Conservatives have been involved in culture war since forever.

Economically they've convinced their base that all they need to do is pay less in taxes and they'll be good to go.

And they all buy into a few extra dollars in their pocket is all the payment they need if they can attack what they see as America's diversity problem.

A lot of people aren't good people. Accepting it makes it easier to understand. :manny:

Bruh I’ve been saying this.

progress isn’t inevitable. I studied the reconstruction! Things can and always do get worse. Generations don’t “fix” things over time.

there’s often this rationale that there’s always more good people. NOT TRUE!

Just look at the current fight over education curriculums or defunding public schools.

They're afraid someone might have teach their children something that makes them actual good people. :pachaha:

Senator Chuck Schumer

Today, the Senate will confirm two nominees to the NLRB and secure a pro-union, Democratic majority on the board.
Gwynne Wilcox and Dave Prouty have spent their careers defending rights of unions across the U.S., and both are proven champions for working Americans.
