Which is an absolutely batshyt insane argument.
If you're some kind of hardcore American patriot who cannot acknowledge
America's shortcomings, then truthfully you're no different than
the talking heads employed by Fox News

This has nothing to do with my views. We're discussing the general populace. And no they aren't going to acknowledge it :pachaha:
this a "broke commie" cliche I see here ? :pachaha:
:troll:
I'm making 3g's a week right now :pachaha: and I'm set to clear 100k.
Just because I'm doing fine that doesn't mean everyone else is.
This is more asleep at the wheel rhetoric.

I make more than that, but it's really irrelevant to the overall point that most Americans are self interested. Glad to see you couldn't wait to talk about your lil money though :skip:
Your whole schtick is founded on dishonesty with posts deep throating the establishment
and throwing sly remarks and sneak disses at other posters.

Only in American can someone watch 1.4 million acres burn due to hardcore climate change,
Hundreds of thousands go homeless, abundant state sanctioned violence, rising poverty, unsustainable
educational costs, stagnant wages and politicians that fold to to various industries seemingly every
damn time and turn around and say "Yeah, things are fine".

My schtick? I'm just talking about the realities. None of this is related to my personal political priorities.

You'd benefit from stepping outside of your box and looking at things from a broader more realistic perspective.:ehh:
Unfounded insane patriotism IS NOT and NEVER WILL BE the way forward.
Because all it does it is allow people to chest beat over their mediocre living conditions while the wealth
gap widens and everything else continues to be messed up.

But I honestly, sincerely, I do not think I can reason with someone moved by people kneeling in Kinte Cloth's and acknowledging
"Black" Holidays and not...yah know...CHANGE.

Accepting that America is one of the best countries on the planet and that most of the changes we champion are simple QoL improvements to what's an otherwise stable country has nothing to do with insane patriotism.

It's actually saying we can afford it therefore we should do it. :gucci:

Just say you hate America and stop with the histrionics. :comeon:

We just finished memorial day, the fourth of July and are currently in the middle of the Olympics.

Imagine pretending you haven't heard America described as the greatest country in the world regularly over the past three months by your fellow Americans. :mjlol:

The wildest part about MAGA is they wanted to make America worse to make it better. That's 70 million people :francis:

:troll: Say making more money than 90% of Americans is little money brehs :troll:
Not even remotely close to the point I was making though which was to counter :troll: Oh you're an American Hatin', Lovin Commie ? Must be broke. :troll:
:salute: @ you making more than me, :troll: I'm certain I'm younger so, I got time to catch up :troll:

Things don't drastically change because Americans don't really care.

They don't really care because the vast majority of Americans live a good life comparatively to the rest of the world.

@Insensitive has yet to prove this point wrong. :umad:

Pointing out that things could be better isn't a rebuttal here. Try again, Jack. :smugbiden:

I think that might be subjective and qualified with the social/economic class of the American being looked at. The real conversation is the minority in this statement - who are they, why can't they attain the 'good life', and is that their own doing or one by design?

Not highly educated.
Not an immigrant.
And not just "approaching things academically" which is ironic coming from a guy actively endorsing rhetoric that lines up with his own from...Academics.

The subtext of his posts are that those people who aren't doing well are not doing well by choice, remember, he says everything is "working as intended".

The question answers itself. Because they're the minority.

I dont know why people like to play coy when we have these discussions. Time and time again people vote against their own economic self interest because they don't value it as much.

How many hundreds of thousands of posts are in this sub talking about conservatives voting against their better interest?

We got poor folks donating money to a billionaire to own the libs. They simply don't care because the vast majority of Americans lives just aren't that bad.

But here we are a bunch of folks making well into six figures talking about how miserable everyone else must be. :wow:

This take is completely wrong IMO.

It's not that they don't care about their own economic self interest, it's that they see anything that helps outgroups (minorities, immigrants, etc.) as hurting them.

They aren't voting against their self-interest so much as they just have a warped view of what's actually in their economic self-interest.

If Adam Serwer is writing this you have a big fukking problem

People said I was scaremongering about a potential decline in black votes, and we saw it even with Trump on the ballot. People are becoming disaffected not because they want to become Republicans, but because Democrats are afraid of black people and black leader ship. They are OK with some of us, but we have to struggle to even control the narrative and get the reins of the party. I’m surprise Jamie Harrison hasn’t seen much negative opposition press leaked out from his tutelage. Time will tell after 2022 though.

this is what bothered me so much about Bernie Sanders running for president. Black voters have been voting for the most economically and socially progressive measures since time immemorial. And yet the people holding it back or not a sliver of black votes, it’s the majority of white voters who do not even vote for Democrats much less even moderate Democrats. It’s always been conservative white people. So when Bernie keeps chasing after white people who aren’t even voting for him, I really have to wonder what they keep thinking this magic strategy of appealing to needs that they know aren’t being met, but are better served by ignoring black peoples larger political acknowledgment and inclusion. THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING.
