What has Biden done to protect democracy? This Protect Our Democracy Act should have been prioritized immediately once he got in office while Jan 6th was still fresh in people's minds. This is the bare minimum he could have done to put some checks and balances in place to prevent another Trump.

You just aren’t getting it :snoop:

i want Biden to lessen his power, but I also want him to force senators to do what I want he wants them to do while using the bully pulpit of TikTok

expect any politician to immediately willingly decrease their power after scraping tooth and nail to get into office, brehs
Yes because having unchecked power as POTUS has worked out well these last 20+ years. And Biden has been in Congress 40+ years he knows the power of the POTUS. He just wants to wield like Trump but with a velvet glove. It's all a charade. He's already protecting Trump like Obama did GWB, but I guess that's fine because he had to work really hard to get into office huh?

If we go with the idea that she's too dumb to understand what she's standing behind, we'd also have to accept that the last month of criticism and whatever behind the scenes conversations would be sufficient enough to educate her. So since she's doubling down on her position, that would logically lead us to believe that she's fully aware of whats at stake.

Her position is too shallow to be principled - which is what she's trying to get us to believe.

Corruption is the last and most logical answer - she has incredible leverage from all sides which she can use to her advantage.
She's been in office since her 20s and has seen her profile rise by being a moderate.

I think she's just playing the game and sees being a moderate as a way to continue on as an Arizona senator. Sure she's corrupted by power, but I'm not sure there's more to it than that.

Trust bisexual Mormons brehs :francis:

This isn’t a reality-based counter argument. :heh:

He isn’t going to do either with all of his current executive power. :russ:
Should he give up his powers before or after... Hypothetically speaking of course.:lolbron:

Because the argument has been made that he should do it because he can and the legislature will not.

There’s studies that show how people feel about police vary from city even among the same demographics

that’s why it’s damn near impossible to craft some type of police reform legislation because policing isn’t the same everywhere

I do know that anyone elected to run government from local to federal are always going to hire more police because what other realistic do you have to keep citizens safe

the defund the police crowd never ever come up with good answer for what do about the people shooting and hitting licks right now
One thing you can do is end qualified immunity. That alone would change policing nationwide. Its not impossible. If that the case what was the point of all the protest last year if there is nothing that can be done about police gunning down black men and women with little happening to them. End qualified immunity and break up the criminal mafias that are police unions.

I’m not going down this route because you aren’t attempting to make sense.

Kamala can only vote if there's a tie. The Senate is operationally 48(+2)/50 - that's NOT a majority :yeshrug:

Also, even so 51/50 is the narrowest "majority" possible. No room for error and there's a greater opportunity for individual Senators to wield power in such a narrow "majority" (like we see currently with Manchin & Sinema).
Again, Dems needed those seats in North Carolina and Maine so bad.

Mehlhorn has been pushing donor advisers to back initiatives aimed at shoring up Biden’s standing on crime and bipartisanship. Mehlhorn has proposed a “Police for Biden” group and suggested recruiting former Republicans and police officers as candidates for office, according to people involved in the discussions. He also has been pushing Democrats to focus on passing the president’s American Jobs and Families plans on a bipartisan basis.
