Honestly I have no idea if she's compromised, corrupt, dumb, or just an attention whore :patrice: but either way :pacspit:

Manchin on the other hand I'm pretty sure is just a Republican for all intents and purposes.
they are corrupt and it’s time to start saying that. That word impacts people more than some of these others.

What has Biden done to protect democracy? This Protect Our Democracy Act should have been prioritized immediately once he got in office while Jan 6th was still fresh in people's minds. This is the bare minimum he could have done to put some checks and balances in place to prevent another Trump.

I argued this during the election season. One of the boldest things Biden can do is lessen the power of the President, but like the sociopath he is there is no chance he will.

I don't disagree with the importance of the Act but there is no way an incoming President is making anything like this #1 on his agenda, where he expects to have to make wholesale change. These are the types of reforms that get prioritized at the tail end of an administration.

The elephant in the room is that alot of the white electorate that voted for Biden support law enforcement. Especially white suburban voters. These were the Republican never Trumpers/conservative democrats in swing districts. They were turned off by the BLM protest. They were disgusted at the way George Floyd died but many of them have the mentality that since the officer is in jail that the work is done. They did not like the Defund the Police idea but were turned off by Trump and the GQP fear mongering. In their world view police reform should be minimum. They still believe that bad cops are a minority and that the majority of cops are good. In short white folks don't care. White folks have been conditioned since they were young to trust and believe in police. Its very hard for them to shake that world view. Even after George Floyd got murdered with a knee to his neck they still won't believe that the majority of cops are scumbag fascist. Black people know this because we experience it. This is what happens when you have a big tent party. A democrat from Arizona/Texas have very different views on police reforms to democrat from New York/Cali. It is what it is.
There’s studies that show how people feel about police vary from city even among the same demographics

that’s why it’s damn near impossible to craft some type of police reform legislation because policing isn’t the same everywhere

I do know that anyone elected to run government from local to federal are always going to hire more police because what other realistic do you have to keep citizens safe

the defund the police crowd never ever come up with good answer for what do about the people shooting and hitting licks right now

I see corrupt is the new neoliberal :hubie:

If we go with the idea that she's too dumb to understand what she's standing behind, we'd also have to accept that the last month of criticism and whatever behind the scenes conversations would be sufficient enough to educate her. So since she's doubling down on her position, that would logically lead us to believe that she's fully aware of whats at stake.

Her position is too shallow to be principled - which is what she's trying to get us to believe.

Corruption is the last and most logical answer - she has incredible leverage from all sides which she can use to her advantage.

Lessening executive power when congress isn't functioning sounds counter to the get things done narrative also being pushed.

You just aren’t getting it :snoop:

i want Biden to lessen his power, but I also want him to force senators to do what I want he wants them to do while using the bully pulpit of TikTok

expect any politician to immediately willingly decrease their power after scraping tooth and nail to get into office, brehs

My only question is, what advantage? Somebody paying her?

She's not exactly helping her reelection campaign, she's already the most likely Dem senator to get primaried...

She's a Senator from Arizona for starters, republican help can ensure she keeps her seat.
