Biden wouldn't do it, he stands to gain from not doing it, congressional Dems would be doing it ideally.
I get that. That's why I don't think Biden asking Congress to do work is actually a policy of his. THe people saying that Biden is waiting for Congress to do work is never going to sit right with me because he likes having power like all the other power hungry sociopaths we elect president.

Biden is legacy building (padding his stats) which is why reaching across the aisle is so high on his list. But he's essentially making the same mistake Obama did in his 8 years and that's surprising since he had a front row seat for it.

I said it during the campaign last year, Biden's campaign was the black man couldn't do it, but I will.

He's trying it and failing because he isn't that smart and the GOP are even more obstructionist today than during Obama's presidency. Its why being aggressive and putting them on the back foot was important. He has chosen not to do this, and it will more than likely cost the Dems in 2021.

It’s still early. But time is running out.

What bill has failed to pass due to dem opposition? :gucci:
The covid relief was weakened ($15 min wage) for "bipartisanship" then not 1 Republican voted for it in the Senate.

Infrastructure started at 2.2 trillion, Repubs say 800 bil which they have no intention of sticking to. Will probably end up at 1.2 trillion and pass with with zero Repub support. Just pass the 2.2 plan and live or die on it

It's a dog and pony show.

15/hr was taken out because the parliamentarian said it didn't meet the rules for budget reconciliation, not for Bipartisanship reasons, but it passed.

Infrastructure hasn't come to a vote yet. Hard to say what the overall package will look like, but if I recall the price went down but much of the so called "pork" is still in the bill. Either way, it hasn't. Come up for a vote.

Which was my point in the beginning. What bills aren't passing because of Dems.

Even if you nuked the filibuster the proposed and final bills will change.

We saw that even with the Republican tax cuts under Trump.
End of the day, as long as he passes major initiatives that improve the lives of Americans I'm not going to be pretend to outraged because it isn't perfect.

Shortsighted. Trump would’ve rammed through so much garbage if there was no filibuster. No.
Why are we talking about some retiree living in southern Florida? We're talking about congress and the fact that you don't govern from a position of what someone else would do.

Because it’s shortsighted. Y’all in here talking about the Republicans might win and then in another breath saying we should get rid of the filibuster too. Our only defense in that scenario. That’s not smart. That’s talking from a mindset of the here and now...not someone looking forward five years. If Trump had no filibuster and this was only six months ago, he would’ve did WHATEVER he wanted.
