Be mad at congress.
We can be mad at multiple branches of the government at the same time. But Biden declared "I am the party." It is his job to take the heat. He is the leader, supposedly. And he apparently cannot control his people. He can't persuade them, he can't influence them, he can't communicate with them, he can't talk them into or out of anything. Joe fukking Manchin is in charge. West Virginia rules the United States. Embarrassing.

Did Joe Biden announce that he just quit or something? Did he go on camera and shrug his shoulders and say "And that's all folks!"

Hey, keep the heat and pressure, but there's a difference between that and the propaganda like nothing is happening or that he's not doing anything. Where's the proof that Joe Biden is sitting on his couch right now sippin' his coffee and watching TV?

They didn't remove the filibuster because a minority of Dems don't want to.

Like I said, if Biden is really okay with this he's dumb. They literally have all three chambers and are still in a lame duck session :dead:
I'd hold off this criticism until they actually begin to fail.

Y'all had this same energy during stimulus talks and everything worked out. :manny:

I don't understand why we're worried about Congress.

In theory Congress controls the purse strings and should be able to stop all the wars these presidents start by simply stopping the funding.

Instead the president usually runs all over them or worse they agree with the choice effectively nullifying whatever "check" they're supposed to be.

Why in this instance do we actually give a shyt whether or not Congress can stop the President or not when it comes to Canceling Student Loan debt ? The President's powers have already swelled a great deal and continue to do so, so worrying about them "acting like kings" is kinda moot in 2021.

That's the point, they're trying to put the genie back in the bottle while they still can...if they don't succeed in doing so now, this country will be a different flavor of autocracy every 8 years.

I'm just saying, it feels like we're low key already there.
And the opportunity for the Democrats to quell any possibility of another Populist Right Wing Psychopath becoming
the president dwindles every single day Biden sits on his fingers. :yeshrug:

Which is why tossing the filibuster should really be priority #1 at the top of every Democrats list.

Is that what Biden is actually doing? You need laws to make that happen. He hasn't advocated for anything on those terms.
