Biden don’t close the coal mines please :sadcam: it’s our only hope to put food on the table:mjcry:
Higher Learning liberal echo chamber = never admit to any wrong doing by the person you support. Mock those who disagree.

1000 people lose their job and get fukked financially with the stroke of a pen in a poor economy with no replacement job? Good because something something toxic waste.

2 months later and that person still hurting from losing their job? Oh well Biden has a good climate idea! They will be fine! As if an idea is suppose to replace a job.

Its almost a cult.

A proposed plan does nothing for those who lost their paychecks a couple of weeks ago. Y'all love to claim something is talking points when it’s actual facts.

This isn't a garbage talking point. This is real life.

Proposing a plan dont mean shyt. If you going to take away somebody job then you better have an immediate replacement for them. Otherwise you just screwed them over.

"Oh sorry I took your job and you may be struggling now but I have this great idea that may help you!". Thats just an empty sales pitch.

those jobs were temporary anyway. The oil and gas industry is extremely feast or famine and project based

Nah. It's the coli. People get clowned.

:yeshrug:

Ultimately the keystone pipeline stands to potentially kill more people through pollution than it could ever employ. Is that trade off reasonable for you?

Yes the folks lost their jobs, and yes there should be provisions to help them, but continuing with the pipeline isn't the solution.

They should have lined them up with replacement jobs immediately. Thats the whole point.

When Trump fukked over the farmers it was a mix of liberal outrage and laughter because they were mostly Trump supporters, but when Biden screws over 1000 people with the snap of a finger its oh well fukk them.

It's the government's job to line you up with a new contract?

You need to get outside of your echo Chamber. :mjlol:

It would have been the wise thing to do.

So essentially its ok to potentially ruin people lives if it suits your political beliefs.

The Republican President in 2024 may do what Biden just did to any climate jobs that conservatives think is BS.

Will those people out of work suddenly be a problem simply because the jobs they lost are jobs you believe in?

Higher Learning liberal echo chamber

This statement is top 3 one of the dumbest and most overused excuses I routinely see in HL now. It's always being used by a poster who has a dissenting opinion but is unable to really support that opinion with anything other than their emotion during a bad faith argument.

Its rather amazing how people have ran with facebook job numbers and revenue estimates when it comes to Keystone XL, overlooking the facts such that every American construction job provided by TC Energy would have been a seasonal job from 4 to 8 months. Which the State Department doesn't even classify as a job because it does not meet the 1-year threshold. XL pipeline work could have provided roughly 4,000 different temporary union positions over the course of 2 years in about 3 states. Decent temporary work but at the end of the day, not this boon for American construction/oil workers that's being sold on social media and the internet. Both the State Department and TC Energy expect maybe 50 people total to maintain a complete pipeline, and only 30 of those full time and mostly in Canada, if all played out and the pipeline is to be completed.

Apparently SCOTUS paused the project prior to Biden yanking the permit for an environmental review.

You use the term liberal like an insult. Not sure why? No one here beside @DEAD7 would be insulted by that term. Either way, jobs lined up where?

I get what you are saying but where? Back in the oil industry? Not feasible based on the reason for axing the pipeline, so at this stage, what's the option?

You may discount the fact, but you don't think contractors, who have had an on-again off-again relationship with this pipeline considering the injuctions, starts and stops, might not have been already lining up other jobs when Joe Biden was elected? You keep describing them like permanent workers. They had no guarantees.

Finally people laughed at the farmers because they wholeheartedly voted for the man who fukked them over, and even went as far as to continue supporting him while they lost their farms. Not one was outraged. We just saw the hilarious irony. Either way, not the same thing.

The guarantee doesn't matter. A President can't mouth off about unifying the country when the first thing he does is tell 1000 people to go fukk themselves and leave them in the middle of the road hanging.

Tone Def post considering the millions of Americans out of work due to Covid.

Your posting smacks of misguided privilege.

And to be frank, you'd be making the same bad faith argument if the government just merely decided not to renew your short term contracts.

Either way, you gambled on a contract that's been beleaguered with controversy since it's inception.

So essentially its ok to potentially ruin people lives if it suits your political beliefs.

As someone who has previously contracted with the government, the answer is yes. The offset has always been very good pay. :rudy:
