Same thing with the eviction moratorium. Biden and Pelosi said that the president couldn't extend it unilaterally, and it had to be an act of congress. And people complained nonstop that they were just cruel, heartless establishment Dems who didn't want to help people. So Biden signs an executive order and the Supreme Court blocked it, saying an extension did in fact have to be an act of congress.

And then the same people complaining got real quiet.

This is a strong mischaracterization of the events, and I feel you know that.

Failure of governance

Cori Bush wasn't sleeping in Lafayette Park. She was on the steps of the US Capitol.

That's not what the post said and that's not what you were replying too. NOw you are lying.
But they aren’t doing a great job. People are struggling. Biden let these dudes spend weeks working on an infrastructure bill, which is fine considering it worked but…nothing else has been done. I don’t want to hear about Covid relief, that was months ago. Prices are up, wages are meh for many, and others are at risk of eviction. And these are the people you think will vote for you next year lol?
An infrastructure bill passed the senate with heavy republican support and it can’t become law because of House infighting. With a 5 seat
majority. This is madness.

Isn’t this post blaming the Dems for people struggling :mindblown:

What are you doing?

Cori Bush wasn't sleeping in Lafayette Park. She was on the steps of the US Capitol.
It had zero chance of passing the Senate. Cori Bush, Chuck Schumer, AOC and others were trying to get Biden to extend it via executive order to buy them time to pass a bill while it fought a court challenge--because even they knew he couldn't do it without congress.

They didn't do their jobs. These are facts.

And then you said:

”people are struggling?”

You also tried to deny inflation and other economic stuff. You don’t know what you are talking about.
I didn’t deny inflation. I said it was transitory. I was wrong even though inflation is below 5% right now.

I replied “people are struggling” to the assertion that Dems are failing because they aren’t passing things progressives want

So let’s be clear, you just admitted you mischaracterized what the critique was.

That was what you got daps over from the goofies. The critique on Biden wasn’t that we needed an executive order. The critique was he didn’t try to push Congress either way. In fact, Dayen sourced some White House staffers who critiqued Psaki for saying congress needed to act because that was signaling that Biden wanted congress to extend the moratorium. Biden didn’t want to extend it, and neither did the other establishment Dems in congress. There waa no movement on it for months even though they knew the clock was ticking. That is what people on this forum said was cruel and fukked up. Not Biden penning an executive order at the last minute.

Cori Bush was on the Capitol steps criticizing congress members that August recess:

Those are the facts.

No? The whole point of this discussion was people demanding Biden do Executive Orders even though the courts would strike them down. Before the eviction moratorium expired, the complaint was "Biden needs to extend it via Executive Order because Congress can't pass it, and if he won't he's choosing not to":

Then the narrative switched to, "Well, he should do it anyway so we can buy some time while the courts sort it out."

So, yes, the critique was the Biden should have used an executive order.
