I've never paid more for my bill after upgrading. My bill has been $74-78/month since 08
Cost to UG to base new iPhone is usually $199... :manny:
you might wanna go check your bill then. cuz most companies have changed how they charge you for the phone.

your bill may be 74-78 a month since 08 and you might have gotten that phone "free" then.
BUT now if you have a phone OFF contract most companies will give you a "discount" of $15-$20 a month.

so essentially you are paying for that phone regardless.

no one is getting shyt for free ....

and this is what I was trying to say as well. at least if you buy it out right, you're not on contract and the phone is unlocked from the jump.

Speak of people being "simple and close minded" when you lack basic life skills like reading comprehension brehs. I mentioned the inclusion of the adaptor on my post. For some reason you think adding an adaptor that could easily be damaged or lost makes up for the inconvenience and how anti-consumer this radical move by apple is, it does not.

Some people have invested hundreds of $$ in third party high quality headphones that are pretty much rendered incompatible with their phones if said adaptor is lost or damaged unless they forked out even more for a replacement adaptor, which in itself is already a hassle having to connect headphones to adaptor to then connect said adaptor to phone, also, the logistics for these connections might not be compatible for when people are exercising or when, as it has already been mentioned in this thread, people want to listen to music + charge their phone at the same time. The ease of connection to aux chords and the attached social factors have also been brought up ad nauseam, if you don't get it at this point, you're just dumb or a social recluse or a paid apple employee, or overall just an idiotic consumer.

All these factors could/would be mitigated and potentially bearable if the gains from removing the headphone jack were substantial and tangible, they are not. You're essentially trying to spin less usability on your device into something positive while trying to frame people as "close minded" for rightly questioning the loss of features without getting anything substantial in return, that's comical.

Then again, this is the same website that has members openly supporting music streaming services having exclusivity deals for artists' content, all for bragging rights, despite how anti-consumer those approaches are. So all in all I shouldn't be surprised:ehh:

I could understand nikkas openly pushing apple's agenda if you guys were apple employees, it wouldn't justify it, but it would explain it. That doesn't seem to be the case here tho, its just nikkas happy to be seeing other people get fukked over and them paying more for less for no other reason than "apple gang :win:".

anyway, this will likely fall on deaf ears and you def not about to convince me that sacrificing the headphone jack for no good reason is a positive so don't quote me again. :demonic:
NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO BUY THE fukkIN PHONE BRUH!!!

I ain't readin all that shyt.

Can you guys stop saying it's going all wireless? You can still use your current wired head phones.....you need a connector that they provide. New headphones from companies will of course have the lightning cable connection as they make big money selling accessories. You are not locked into 'wireless or nothing'

On top of it, switching to the lightning cable connector actually gives you better sound quailty over shyt regular 3.5 mm headphones and wireless bluetooth streaming because the lighting cable can move more data than a bluetooth connection can....

apple is gonna be able to make folks re-buy the beats by dre headphones with the lightning connector.

my question is what do they do with the macbooks and ipads? are they gonna remove the 3.5mm jack from there as well?

it would be stupid to remove the 3.5mm from the macbook. or will they add a lightning port on there? if I travel and have my phone and my laptop, will I need two different headphones types?

I think ppl get caught up with getting "free" phones that they don't really look in to what they are paying for.

I prefer to stay off contract as well, it allows me to have leverage when trying to get a better deal on my terms.
just recently I called up and told my carrier that a competitor had a better sale on now and I was gonna change, they did whatever they could to keep my by giving me a discount and an extra few gigs of data for free. because I could just walk away.

those locked in to contracts the company doesn't give a fukk about cuz they already have you stuck.

no one said i got it for free :what: where they get you is the fact that you're re-upping with them for two more years in addition to paying half the cost of it upfront when you upgrade.

Apple is not making anyone do anything. You don't have to buy new beats if you get the new iphone. There is an adapter. Now I agree it can be easy to lose for some, for others it wont be. I don't think that people who can't keep their cords together should make the rest of us suffer. People lose apple ear buds all the time, should we get upset at apple for that?

The macbooks still have the 3.5 mm head phone jack because well, there isn't a space or water proofing issue. No one is dying for waterproofed laptops and their 'ultra slim' ones are not in high demand. People want water proof phones (still not entirely sure why) and have the thinest, sleekest possible.

on top of that, if you're paying a $25 "access" fee to get a discount, that comes out to $600 over two years on top of the $200 that was paid for the phone for a total of $800.

my phone is the 64GB, and I paid $750 to buy it outright. so basically she spent more than I did for a smaller storage phone.
