What is the reason for them to even do that? It's not like it was taking up too much space.
supposedly trying to make the phone thinner, but we are at the point where phones really cannot get any thinner to be honest.

breh, its 2016 n you using aux?
use an official ipod/iphone dock most audis, bmws etc come with them as standard
my car has , dvd, Bluetooth, usb, ipod dock, and a built in audi 1TB hard drive... using an aux is not needed.
$800? How many people are paying full retail for these phones...stop it. And for most people - on the two year upgrade cycle - you're on the brink of needing a new phone regardless, I know my iPhone batteries have turned to shyt at the 2/2.5 yr mark. You don't need a new head unit, especially if you're only getting it to have Bluetooth instead of an aux not to mention the cost for double din units is much higher, then you gotta pay for install as well. All that because your phone manufacturer said so...nah.
best post itt,Guess i'm sticking with my 6
can't understand how anyone would be ok with, let alone celebrate the removal of something that facilitates usage and makes the product more convenient for a wider audience. Especially when whatever potential benefits aren't even readily identifiable or tangible. nikkas really in here like "yes apple!! restrict my product!! the more anti-consumer the better!!". wild.
this move is neither innovative or useful for the consumer, it actually feels quite archaic, and the inclusion of the adaptor proves that. It is making you, the consumer, to do "more" (in this case using an adaptor) to get the equivalent usage you got out of older models. technologies should push the envelope to include more methods of usage, not less, unless the gains were potentially so significant that justified the loss of "older" technology, that is not the case here. the headphone jack is getting sacrificed for what? non noticeable design form?
LOL @ me having a car fully paid for and working fine and aquiring a new car payment just to get bluetooth and impress nikkas. That's why nikkas financial situations be horrible. Gotta stunt and keep up with the jones'
I saw you post earlier in the thread that you do home and auto audio. So cause Apple alone makes a dumb ass decision that only benefits them and inconvenience's the customer. People have to adapt? Guess what? Cars STILL have CD players in them. Even with the tech moving forward. Cause they know people still use cd's. Removing a fukking headphone jack benefits no one but Apple. This shyt makes zero sense. 3.5 Jacks are the standard everywhere. This new iPhone is literally the only ones pulling this shyt. Yet ur comparing that to CDs? There's literally no sign that headphone jacks are on the way out. Especially of nikkas don't dikkride everything apple does and don't support them with their money.
I've never paid more for my bill after upgrading. My bill has been $74-78/month since 08I'm only getting a new phone every other year. and now that cell phone companies aren't offering subsidies with the phone, you might as well pay full retail. that's what I do at least. even if you get an "upgrade" they will charge you like $30 extra every month which negates the discount you originally got in the first place.
You're forgetting how annoying it is to connect/setup your phone to the bluetooth in somebody else's car (the main reason aux cords are used these days)
They are including the adapter for those that fail to adapt right away. They are only including it for a transition period to stop ppl from completely crying and losing it.Guess i'm sticking with my 6

But you can connect iphone via usb cable . Whats the big dealThey just wanted to sound cool online
Cd players are still standard. CD Changers is a different story.I saw you post earlier in the thread that you do home and auto audio.
I hear that CD players aren't standard in cars now? My car now has a six CD changer and all I listen to in the car is CDs. Will I even have the option of getting a CD changer in a new car?
What about after market? I hear they are phasing them out to make way for the bigger navigation system screens?
@OnlyInCalifornia you can weigh in on this too if you know breh.
I just want to listen to my Infamous CD in the car brehs
