You have to go for it. Yeah, I understand women don't know how to handle rejection but the worse thing he can say is no, "I'm not interested" or " I have a girlfriend". It's not the end of the world so you'll live. You want to get the shyness out the way and build on your confidence, so it will help if you just go for it. Even if he say he's not interested at least you had the guts to tell him how you feel plus there are plenty fishes in the sea.

If you don't do it you will never know and you will probably lose out on another opportunity. Take my word for it. Just do it.
