If I'm the pelicans I start over from the gm to the 15th man on the roster

Just get it over with and rebuild and start building next year with a defensive culture in mind.
Something with an identity that attracts Allstars at least .

N.O would have been better off just resigning Julius Randle and drafting Ja Morant. That would have set them up for a decade.

However in reality N.O should try to see what they can get for Zion in a trade. He clearly never wanted to be there and he can get fetch a crazy amount of draft picks.

The N.O
I guess I'm the only one saying bring in Joe Johnson for vet leadership. Clearly temple ain't it. Gates has potential to be camby status and that's ok with me. Griffin and Gayle must be fukking like rabbits for him to still have his job. They need a serious come to Jesus meeting and go from there. You see how many times we've had double digit leads and then go on to lose by 20 or more? shyt is embarrassing. Team ain't got no heart. You wanna piss off our REAL fans, look at the numbers of the players we've let go with the exception of trash bledsoe. Look at this line up of players we've let go

Only hope at this point is to get lucky in the lotto this year and pray Paolo could be another star to build around with Zion

Negativity (Kayfabe)
Zion might be the first high profile rookie to take the QO so he can walk in free agency the following offseason

He ain't doing that shyt cuz free agency is damn near a dead concept for big time players.

The route is always take the extension than stomp and cry until you go to where you really wanna go.

Different for a player off his rookie deal though. He won’t be able to pull that move until at least two years into that next extension. He so clearly wants out and has the big shoe deal holding him down already. Also there is no risk of not getting a max even if he was to have a serious injury the season before FA. Someone will still pay him the most he can get. I think he may do it tbh. He wants nothing to do with NO and it sounds like he has one of those family ‘camps’ helping him make decisions and not on the same page as his team

His QO deal isn’t chump change though, it’s like 17 mil as the #1 overall pick. He would be giving up like 15 mil for one season though to become a UFA the following offseason. I think he might be the guy to do it. If he doesn’t it locks him into NO for at least two more seasons minimum the season after next

What is the basis of your "Zion doesn't want to be here and will do anything to leave"?

Because our biggest issue is him being babied and protected to the point of not taking accountability for his weight.

His people wanted Stan gone, he's gone. I can't wait for the summer so ya'll can stop that notice of his signing a QO when this kid can't even play a full season, yet. And he had major injuries before 22. Zion is signing. Chill. Out.

If anything, he'll do what @tremonthustler1 said.

Lookin bad, long and short term

Griffin has been horrible.
Drafting a project center top 10 just to continually bring in old, slow Centers to play ahead of him was stupid
I like Lewis but he rarely gets PT
Everyone he has drafted is mid

Lonzo is just solid but to only get two below average replacement level players was :mindblown: esp when your best player wanted him back

And Zion....I'm not buying stock
Sure he can put up video game type numbers when healthy but it doesnt seem to be in a way that impacts winning and his weight combined with his injury history makes him a ticking timebomb. I dont see him ever being the #1 on a high level playoff squad. Plus I dont see the dedication to his craft

I would have traded him in the off season. Fired Griffin and started over

Ya'll overstate the "Zion wanted him back" to create a narrative. Zo wanted out. Griffin wanted Cap space. End of story.

It may not even be worth it to fire David Griffin when we're in so deep. That last thing this team needs is more change.
Ok so I look at it like this…we can all admit that Griffin has to go…but green should get a fair shot…I’d move Langdon up to griffins job….I’m assuming Langdon was also good with green as the coach also.

player wise I know brehs are going to not agree.

with Zion clearly you don’t know what you have until he comes back healthy. So you will be forced to wait that out. But would it really be that bad to silently shop him during the offseason? Especially since he clearly wants out?

I’d also see if I can move jackson Hayes for a team locker room vet type who can still play.

that Graham and naw backcourt doesn’t seem to be working out well at all. Is it possible to start rotating Lewis in a bit more.

basically looking at this roster Ingram is a dog. Jonas does his thing. They have a couple of encouraging players. And Zion is big time if he remains healthy (big if) but with their draft assets they may want to move for someone like Marcus Smart.

The pelicans need to establish a team culture. Well not establish but improve it. Find some solid playable vets. I don’t think much of anything can be done this season to even get them into the play in but they should be busy during offseason.

And during that time after the season ends and before the draft that’s when I would ship Zion to a couple of teams who had players I was interested in.

You watching the Pelicans this season? Kira has all the space to show how good he is...as this point he's a rotation player on our G-League team, at best.

Our issue is injuries and depth. BI only played 6 games this season. And this isn't even a thread if Zion was in shape and on the floor.

That's damn year 50 points a game we've had to play half the season without.

Jonas playing 40 mins a game because we don't have a reliable backup.

Again, Jrue should've BEEN traded so we could develop the younger guys we treated like they was supposed to make a jump this year (NAW, Jax, Kira).

We should've traded JJ. But, not at the expense of a vet in the building.

David Griffin doesn't have a plan, which is why he keeps firing coaches and taking big swings (Adams, Bledsoe, "Jrue is the MVP") only to switch on them quickly.

And I think that happened cause Lonzo told them I don't want to play here, unless you giving me the max, and the pelicans said we not doing that, and they decided to part ways.

Cap.

Griffin too cool for school ass though he could clear space for a big name FO (Lowry, CP3) and because ZO didn't want to stay, he decided to just off load him for cap space.

Y'all really hype off a great season of Julius Randle that he some All-Star talent?

Again, ya'll listing "brand names" because ya'll don't following or watch the team. He was as bad as Eric Gordon was down here.

And you show that by just listing the "brand name" that used to play for us.

Julius Randle??? :mjlol:

We traded Buddy for Boogie Cousins.

Jrue was never staying long term and should've got traded earlier.

AD is a hoe, who was never a #1.

Griffin also moved back 4 spots in the 2019 draft from 4 to 8 to get Jaxson Hayes, clear project center which is a position that is devalued, just to get a mid to late additional first round pick. He gave up his top 4 draft position where you could get an true impact player (Deandre Hunter) to take two potential role players. Just a terrible decision that was completely unnecessary for a team rebuilding around a #1 overall pick. If anything he should have been using his assets to move up in the draft but he moves back for potential role players? Why?

Or he could've had Garland as well. Just a complete waste after the league gifted the Lakers (and them) the 4th pick.

And how did that boogie cousins deal work out? Who is playing better Julius or boogie?
I watch the games and it gives me WebMD symptoms. Name anybody on that list that couldn't start for us RIGHT NOW. Defensively we're trash and these dudes too young or not talented enough to win, but keep making excuses. Our team is toxic as fukk my g and you know it.

You hating on Julius but he averaging damn near 22 points, buddy 16 and his free throw and 3pt % better than what we putting on the floor. So even if we had Cp3 which is veteran leadership, buddy at 2,BI at small, Julius at pf, and VALANCIUNAS at center, you don't think we'd be way better than 1 and fukk it?? C'mon bruh

fukk it I'm gone say it. Temple was poo at LSU and he still poo now. We gotta stop trading for people's trash juice
