He ain't doing that shyt cuz free agency is damn near a dead concept for big time players.

The route is always take the extension than stomp and cry until you go to where you really wanna go.
He could sign a two-year offer sheet from someone and force his way out that way without giving up money. That would force NO's hand no matter what.

I agree that the return was atrocious. DG sucks.

I also think Lonzo is nothing special as a player :yeshrug:
The right decision to move for Lonzo, but the result and execution is unacceptable fire worthy.

Let's also not forget that Griffin try to give out a 3 year max to washed up Kyle Lowry.

I remember Griffin on the Woj podcast talking about how free he is to build a team without GM Lebron. Now we see what happened when he got control of the Pelicans.

Griffin got a ton of picks from the Lakers deal. He got Bledsoe and Steven Adams. Then traded some of those picks a year later to dump Bledsoe and Adams. He used the cap space to try to get Lowry but failed. He lost Lonzo for basically nothing. And all of this has been going on while Zion is at the buffet line.
yep and a lot of cats here were praising him too :sas2:

And how did that boogie cousins deal work out? Who is playing better Julius or boogie?
I watch the games and it gives me WebMD symptoms. Name anybody on that list that couldn't start for us RIGHT NOW. Defensively we're trash and these dudes too young or not talented enough to win, but keep making excuses. Our team is toxic as fukk my g and you know it.
Like I want to be mad optimistic, but a 1-11 team. I know it's tough to win without your best player, but this shyt is because Griffin spent 3 years going sideways and never building the team and bench up. The league got better and Pelicans stayed the same.

Trading away picks for cash when we already had an NBA worst bench.
Replacing your center and starting guards 3 years in a row. Giving OKC a 1st round pick for Steven Adams and to pay him $30 million is absurd. Trading back from 4th overall to get development guys. Being cute and try to get tradable filler salary that never gets traded at every deadline instead going out if your way to bring as much talent as possible.

You never gonna build a good team fixing past mistakes and not simply getting the most talented player as possible. They bring in washed up Vets because they so fukking worried about financial flexibility. I'm sorry... But Zion being dirt cheap is when you're supposed to bring in some dogs. So... After this year... Pelicans has already wasted most of Zion rookie contract with never bringing anyone worth damn till Jonas and Graham. Then, Griff got desperate to give out a Max to washed up Lowry. This is the one time I'm glad our public relations with FAs is in the toilet thanks to JJ and Griff own doing...

Pelicans simply had a talent problem and refused to accumulate talent. They was too busy halfway fighting for a playoff spot, but never going all in to bring in talent.

So, we sit here with $27 million on fire and a $17 million trade exception that can't be used. It's just a terrible way to build a team with no logic or sense.

0. They'll just suck and get another top 3 pick out of it. Either you max Zion out or you sign and trade him. You got the coach, You got Ingram as the franchise.
