Griffin also moved back 4 spots in the 2019 draft from 4 to 8 to get Jaxson Hayes, clear project center which is a position that is devalued, just to get a mid to late additional first round pick. He gave up his top 4 draft position where you could get an true impact player (Deandre Hunter) to take two potential role players. Just a terrible decision that was completely unnecessary for a team rebuilding around a #1 overall pick. If anything he should have been using his assets to move up in the draft but he moves back for potential role players? Why?

I agree that the return was atrocious. DG sucks.

I also think Lonzo is nothing special as a player :yeshrug:
Special or not he’s clearly a plus player and is young. It doesn’t make sense to let him walk as a RFA and get nothing back in return. I don’t think he’s ‘special’ either as a Bulls fan, but I like what he can bring even though I don’t think he has much more room for progression. I’m content with his deal and like what he adds to our team. I’m very happy with what he offers and don’t have crazy expectations for him to push his ceiling any higher. Also he’s pretty much a perfect fit for Zion being a plus defender, shooter and a guy that can push pace with his transition passing. Getting back two average at best role players for him as a RFA is absurd. And Zion wanted him back

I feel like short of offering Lonzo the max he wasn't going to play in New Orleans...

Lonzo been balling but aint no way I would pay him a max or even near max...
They didn’t need to pay him a max. They could have just matched the Bulls deal as a RFA. They had all the leverage and let the Bulls front office walk all over them

Griffin also traded for Steven Adams and gave him a big extension just to have to attach a first round pick to trade him a year later. Adams was never a sensible fit next to Zion as a lane clogger. Just terrible decisions

He also hired a coach (SVG) coming off a terrible tenure in Detroit that he had to fire after one season. It’s pretty wild just how bad Griffin has been in NO. He also has a terrible relationship with his franchise player (Zion) and just got into an altercation with his former coach (Gentry). This is like one of worst front office runs I can think of

And he's gonna waltz right into a cushy NBATV job as an expert on NBA analysis :mjlol:

Made worse because for whatever reason the basketball media was heralding dude as some kinda genius or something when he got hired

Letting lonzo walk was stupid as hell. As far as them being 1-11, not good but the roster and lineups are composed terribly. They are as bad as their record. Totally different story if they had zion but with no zion they're gonna be garbage this year.

Healthy Zion, we're atleast .500

BI missed 6 straight gameas and Val is 20/10 guy right now

The team ain't deep, but, they always trying to replace the top 2 guys on the roster

But, people aren't watching the games and looking at records and Lonzo stats

Zion might be the first high profile rookie to take the QO so he can walk in free agency the following offseason
