How do you and your spouse do it?

Right now my husband pays everything and I do everything in the house (I don't work)

When I worked he paid the mortgage and electric insurance and cell phones. I paid cable Internet before/after school care groceries garbage and water.
We each pd our own car notes when we had one.

Never did this 50/50 notion come up.
