Considering potential inflation and time left to work, I would say about 5.5 million. Considering that is tax free of course.

my house is almost paid off and i got over 20 years to go to retire (at the legal retire age). i assume i wouldn't need much with no bills to pay.
if i don't have bills i assume i can live off like $1500 a month for food and bullshyt.
knowing me i'ma still get money. especially now that its work from home. what else you gonna do everyday?

And never have income, coming in again or just what would get me to retire and chill right now?

3 mil, if I could do some side shyt like write, part time teach, or own a few properties. Never work again, probably 10 mil...not know what inflation is gonna be like over these next 30-40 years of my life.

I personally hate this question, because it always doesn't address how to live comfortably into retirement

Cash Flow >>>>>>> Lump sum of Cash

I rather just have 70K a year after year from investments/assets for the rest of my life VS just $3 mill in the bank of with no investments/assets

2.5 million with a paid off house.

  • I'm putting enough extra cash to the principal of the house so that it is paid off a few years before I retire
  • The money I would have put on the mortgage would go in as extra on my 401k
  • Wife and I currently max out our Roth
  • We both put in a good chunk to our 401k
  • Have a brokage account to pump money into QQQM (Tech etf) & SCHD (growth divided etf)
  • HYSA with Amex
  • Been sitting on SHIBA coins for years hoping I hit big with it, still got bitcoin but banking on SHIBA just because of how cheap it is

Pay bills, decent healthcare, a vacation her and there, and some emergency funds if need be.

When I did the math, just to live like I live NOW in my 70's and 80's, I'd need at least 10M in assets and an income stream of like 350-360k.

Let's just say, I'm a little short of 10M.

Cats need to have multiple rental properties.
Or a big enough stack that they can live off of bond income/interest.

Most white people don't have that.

Lotta folks that have "nothing" right now, are the richest they're ever gonna be.

Assuming you mean legit doing nothing to generate any more income probably around $10m-$20m if I go back up north which I would go back and forth between, considering my age and the fact inflation is only gonna get worse that's more than enough for me to get what I want and chill the rest of my life.

With investments $5,000,000 would flip like $500,000 into crypto especially now before the run ups and make probably $20m+ on the bullrun

Man, reading the numbers you guys are posting. My parents are retiring this decade and they don't have enough :(. I work so hard cus I know I'm going have to supplement them money (which I don't mind) when they retire. It's also taught me to prioritize saving early
