this... if yall use a retirement caluculator... you'll see that this is what is needed. plus factor in inflation.... if rent is $1500/$1800 on average in 2024... in 30-40 years it'll be at least $5k I bet
i agree with you but many folks wont own. Let’s not act like most messages are not promoting “it’s better to rent than own”Is one of the milestones in retirement a paid off house? If the house is paid off, why would you need to rent?

That's kind of why I'd say 1.5-2 mil.
I could live off 50k (and have lived off significantly less) but I wouldn't necessarily call it comfortable.
At least $4 million. I could live off of 3 or 4 percent interest.
