How many pushups straight can you do?

reading some of these posts really depresses me. when I was in the army I was doing around 75 and quite frankly I would have been considered a bit on the weak side. to hear people say they are doing 30-40 as if it is an achievement really has me worried about the physical condition of today's youth

50 in one set, rest for a hot second

Next set I can do 35, take a quick breather,

Then I'll knock out 15 or so and after that I'm spent.

That's ~100 right there. I usually do that in the mornings along with sit-ups.

Then in the evenings is when I use the weights and treadmill.(just started with that)

Going at the morning routine, with me, everything keeps it's definition, arms/chest/ab's. It keeps the flabyness at bay and keeps me lean, and its been that way for a minute. I've seen some improvement from the June 30 day ab challenge also. :ehh:
I didn't have any serious definition around the whole of my abdominal section, now theres a slight outline to go with the muscles already there.

The weights have added a little bit to my shoulders and back. I had to implement the treadmill because my schedule changed and I'm sitting way more. Desk job life = :flabbynsick:

I don't have good arm strength cuz I dont lift weights hardly ever (I'm a runner). I weigh 181 lbs as of yesterday being 6' and can do like 30 maybe.

when I workout at home, I typically do sets of 20.

I did 102 but I'm pretty sure my technique wasn't good enough

Now with a bad shoulder 20 would be good

most i've done is 80 straight, i usually do 60 my first set, then 40 per set after that mixed with pull ups when i'm at work.

do them three times a week slow and your body gets use to it just like everything else (it shows too). I know other dudes who do way more than me straight. Hell have you seen the world records for the number of pushups straight

Do you think he broke 90 the whole time tho?

The qualifications was that he had to go at least parallel for it to count.

I looked it up thinking it was something like 400, I was legit going to try to build up to beat it. Then I see 10 fukking thousand pushups:beli:

I used to do 100 straight...now what i do is get on my floor and bench press two 35 pound dumbbells, then immediately i do 14 wide grip pushups on my perfect chinup bar. Then another 12 reps on my floor immediately followed by 14 close grip pushups. And finally, 12 more reps immediately followed by 12 horizontal gripped pushups. Thats my chest routine right there, i can flex my boobies now. No homo but my chest and nipples look real good :ahh:

I should also mention Im 5'11, between 148 and 150 pounds

Need to get that weight up son:beli:

I do 40 counting down from 40.

For some reason if I start at 1 and count up it's harder to get to 40.

That's a true statement or sometimes when I do supersets of 20 I just count to 10 twice cuz it seems like its not as many. But I can hit 40-50 in one shot.
