I get it, that madden practice mode raised a goon. Plus I just watched the game and played a little, very little lol. It isn't that hard to grasp.

Playing the game adds invaluable perspective.

As is true of most things you can learn.... nothing quite like actually doing it.

I played high school and college ball. Dad played college ball. Watched and learned, helped coach pop warner. I personally learned from some great coaches. Played high school ball at De La Salle... Lad taught me.

basic/general understanding. this year i've focused a lot on defensive alignment. learning that this really is the key to playing great defense. guys have to react to what they see and wrap up but if you have them out of position before the snap, it's a moot point, playcall included.

I blame the coaches at the lower levels who are just exploiting these supremely talented athletes just to win now, it's the same with basketball players.

This is true. I was a baseball player growing up, but was put into basketball around junior high cuz I have great speed and a ridiculous first step for my height, and also great lateral quickness for defense. So, basically, I was able to get to the hole at will my entire life, against defenders taller or shorter, it didn't matter...my first step was beating you, or I was outrunning you down the court with the ball on some Allen Iverson shyt...which means I was never taught how to properly shoot! ...cuz I never needed to learn...until I started playing at a high level and it became a handicap. I learned how to shoot, but not with proper form, so I had a slow release, so I hit college and my basketball career basically ended. I could no longer beast off athleticism alone.

Zone defenses :to:

Not to sound cocky, but I'd bet that I know more than most ppl on this site. I read up on it as much as possible, and stay studying shyt. It's what makes listening to most of these ppl calling the games so hard, cause for the most part they have no clue.

And FYI, you can't determine if it's man or zone by sending someone in motion. That's straight Madden shyt.

You can sometimes. Not all the time, obviously.

And I learned from being around it a lot. Dad has been coaching in pros/college since before I was born. Always been around it and been able to watch a lot of cool shyt from behind the scenes. Never really too athletically gifted myself, but I know a good amount about the game.

I really don't know shyt about defensive schemes or anything. I watch a lot of football, but I'm not studying anything especially not when my teams playing. I have enough of a basic understanding of the game to not look like an idiot when I do talk football though.

Madden is a decent way of learning the game but you know they got coin toss wrong in madden? If you choose to kick in the first quarter the loser of the coin toss can say they want to receive in the 2nd half.

They just made it simpler. Its a waste of time in a video game to choose "defer" and then have to choose again after halftime. If i choose defer the other player may not know the rules and pick kick, then i would get the ball first to start the game and then at halftime. Its basically to keep people from fukking themselves over.
