I know basic formations from high school ball and tv and whatnot, but no way in hell I can read what the QB's see, all that hot receivers ish.
Not to sound cocky, but I'd bet that I know more than most ppl on this site. I read up on it as much as possible, and stay studying shyt. It's what makes listening to most of these ppl calling the games so hard, cause for the most part they have no clue.
And FYI, you can't determine if it's man or zone by sending someone in motion. That's straight Madden shyt.

How can you enjoy the game without understanding this shyt?
I've always focused more on the QB position. It's amazing to me how some guys can hit their 4th read with all kinds of chaos around them.
It's a skill that clearly separates the better QB's in the league and shows in a lot of the QB's who have become busts.
Tangent:
It's one of the reasons Tom Brady was ever even given the chance to become what he did. Once his knee got blown out, he's become overtly aware of 'perceived' pressure and leaves his spots SO much sooner than he used to.
He's obviously still an excellent QB, but his pocket feel and ability to detach from the chance of getting hit and focus instead on his reads and make the right decision was extremely impressive before the knee went out.
Going back to reads. This is why I think Peyton is a frigging mastermind. This dude will hit his 5th read if he needs to. It's pretty crazy.
