He's one of the few experienced writer it seems like. But @The HONORABLE SKJ drops good game too. There's a lot of posters who have insight and the ability to actually convey those thoughts. We just have to provide a platform that is worth the effort.
The main thing is it has to be comparable to these white publications. The quality of the website and writing can't be subpar in comparison if you want to be taken seriously.
Nowadays, there are tons of outlets for black journalists to get there work out there.
The problem is....will you dudes support them?
just like I see great underground artists(even on here) posting music, or guys posting their blogs, or producers posting their beats, etc. if you don't support black ppl doing black things then you have NO ONE to blame but yourself.
on the flip side, the coli (can) be a great place to start a news blog..something like what has/had that would allow the talent that is just on this site or around to have an outlet where ppl can read them.
@cook @Brooklynzson Holla at me....lets try to get this poppin off and we can start having talented writers and dudes from the coli a chance to get published on a high traffic site.
fukk those other publications...why waste your hate on them? stop reading them.
lets build somethign that will hit on a different level.
Exactly, I always questioned what do White posters like @hexagram23 actually get out of Hiphop. Black people talking about hood shyt and circumstances really entertainment to them or do they like rhyme schemes
Thee dudes aren't akin to any other part of black culture either. it's just rap, like what's the appeal?
I respect that@hexagram23 and I have had our battles but I think he's an okay guy. He legitimately loves the culture and is very knowledgeable. I think some of his zeal is derived from the general antagonism towards whites in hip hop and he has to constantly maintain his credibility lest he be labeled a culture vulture. He's pretty respected around here so I don't see the need to prove himself. His disdain for Drake can be excessive but not the 10 Bands guy's level. To Fred, Drake is the anti thesis of the hip hop culture he respects and his nearly bulletproof popularity is probably frustrating to him.
cuz I'm trying to get ppl to see that it doesn't matter what white ppl do...they are gonna do what they do regardless. and what they do shouldn't impact you or your life like that.
These magazines are nothing.... they are just words and pictures. who cares what some white dude from Utah has to say? does it mean more because its in print?
why do we allow these things to get ppl so upset? how lame is it that it takes THIS to get ppl to wake up?
this site can be sooo much better if everyone just stopped worrying about everyone trying to hold them back or keep them down and focused on doing things for themselves.
