Just went through this whole thread :ohhh:
@1984 is Fader a hip hop site too? How many do they have?
The Fader was one of the first all inclusive music genre magazines and really hit my attention back in 2002. I'll get to that in my next post.
The issue is these publications only see black people as a source of entertainment.

Fact is if you're not a rapper, singer, actor, producer/beatmaker etc. you're pretty much worthless to them.
:wow:
The same can be said for athletes.

How many does Afropunk have? @1984 :jbhmm: I wouldn't be surprized if blacks are the minority there too smh

But yeah, whites have colonized/stolen our culture and took over it. Its a very troubling sign that they dictate whats hot, whats in these days and the artists they'll hype up will be some of the wackest rappers/singers too. I also noticed that hipsters who work at these publications champion rappers that are feminine, dress like Jaden Smith, pops xans, sip lean who makes shallow ass music with basic ass rhymes over fluffed pillow production. Most of these sound cloud/blog rappers wouldn't exist if not for those hipsters and thats why they so feel entitled. They make/break artists now along with IG thots who strips/escorts for a living. They're everything thats wrong with this culture. Thats why I'm seriously thinking about creating some kinda music publication that caters only to US....Music is something I'm very passionate about and I think we need to come together to make that happen. Try to get our culture back before we become extinct and washed out completely.

That takes a lot of work and not enough time spent finger wagging at black people.

The outlets are out there, dudes here just don't support them.

Through it is easy to figure why these publications started covering Hip-Hop and in my opinion works out better for the artist in question in my opinion.
yup, its easier to do nothing and complain than it is to put that work and money in to do something yourself.

but the coli knows best so who am I to say

aren't black people only like 12-15 % of the population of America? I don't understand why you guys are expecting all these media companies who pretty much do all genres of music to be full of black employees
It's pretty much established that black people are underrepresented in the white collar world and corporate America but overrepresented in the blue collar world and the service industry.

For the reasons @OnlyInCalifornia said.

There are the class barriers, race barriers, educational barriers, and ofcourse demographics and populations to factor in.

You fail to realize how music culture actually fluctuates

It's why I ALWAYS respected MURDER DOG MAGAZINE
murder_dog_mac_dre.jpg

Hu0bvRo.jpg

They had nikkas in PRISON who could barley write doing they reviews...But that shyt was dope cause it was reviews FROM THE ACTUAL PEOPLE THE MUSIC WAS MADE FOR/FROM.

The founder Black Dog Bone said:
"I had no money, no knowledge of making a magazine, no knowledge of typing, my English was horrible, I was not trained as a reporter," he tells Noz. "I just did it because I wanted to do it."

It can be done brehs.

The greatest hip-hop publication EVER. And the only one i ever fukked with...had no idea it was ran by a brother. :ohhh:

The type of music they used to cover...i shoulda known tho...they covered all the real nikka tunes that that the source and other magazines wouldn't cover...3-6 before they hit nationwide, Tommy Wright, Skinny Pimp, Playa Fly. Ganksta NIP, K-Rino, Point Blank...even DC gogo...you couldn't catch these joints at traditional news stands tho...a gogo shop just outside of DC called "PA Palace" is the only place i would see em in

just bounce yo. your opinion is irrelevant.
you are right. I don't cry and get upset about something and yet keep returning to it like a battered wife....but you keep doing you.

one day you will actually realize that that shyt just isn't worth your time.

there a lot of Black folks who work for this very site..

folks ain't trying to come to no "common" nothing.. most hate Black women.. laugh, or ignore Black artists we try putting them onto.. call legends "flabby", and corny sh!t like that..

this thread, is jokes.. instead of pushing something moving us forward, y'all too busy crying about what these White folks ain't doing for us..

let these folks know who y'all wanna hear, around here.. what y'all want to discuss.. but, that ain't happening.. let's be real- folks would rather get daps & rep, than anything..
So true.
There's a legit handful of us who are here to discuss and come up on new music.
If it weren't for dudes like @IronFist and yourself , I might've missed out on some genuinely
great new acts or I would've had a tough time coming up on their music :mjpls:

However, the other group which is the majority especially in the booth is more interested in corny
Camel Jokes or shoving another 808's and Autotune clown down our throats.
