Because it's common knowledge. I mean it's been a well established narrative for a while now.So you are using instances where people came to his defense without any direct indication of whom they were defending him from as proof of something?
If everything played out the same (injuries, schedule), yes. Again, let's not act like Westbrook's performance last season wasn't without criticism. You honestly think KD could have missed the playoffs last year, after Russ had the squad with a top 2 seed the year prior mind you, and it would have passed as quietly as it did for Westbrook?
Lol at Matt Barnes being an elite defender![]()

I need to see a longer streak of consistency from him...but dude was always deadly but sometimes he doesn't show upDurant used to be a lock for 2nd best player in the league. He just was MVP. He should be the hands down best player in the league but now he's about to be knocked out the top 5.
Paul George is dropping 40 like every other night and he plays defense
He's like a new and improved KD. Doin what Durant should be doing this season
Might have to change my avi soon, brehs?![]()
What's stupid about the talking point? He's not better than Durant, but it's not because he couldn't make the playoffs without him. Why do yall continue to bring this stupid talking point to the table?
It's stupid because they didn't make the playoffs because of their offense (top 5 in the league without Durant) - it was their defense (bottom 5) because Ibaka was out for the last quarter of the season and Kanter was his replacement. If Ibaka was injured at the same time Westbrook was out during Durant's MVP run, they wouldn't have won as many games as they did. Ibaka's impact is severely underrated in the success of this team. What's stupid about the talking point?
The season Russ was out for an extended period, KD had an MVP season and lead the Thunder to a 2nd place finish in the West. Russ couldn't even make an 8th place finish despite being the leader of the team for majority of the season. I believe the contrast is clear. If the roles were reversed, KD would have taken OKC to the playoffs last year.
In the month of November.

Their defense was rated 16th in the league, not bottom 5, while their offense was rated 10th in the league. Ibaka also roughly missed the same amount of games as Westbrook. I maintain that KD would have taken the same team to the playoffs. Westbrook was shooting at a 42% clip (30% from 3-point range). While the box score looked good, and the stretch of triple doubles was impressive, he was inefficient in many games. They couldn't get in over a weak Pelicans team and this while being the best rebounding team in the whole league. It's stupid because they didn't make the playoffs because of their offense (top 5 in the league without Durant) - it was their defense (bottom 5) because Ibaka was out for the last quarter of the season and Kanter was his replacement. It would pay for you to read - this is when Ibaka was out. Not their offensive/defensive rankings for the entire season.Their defense was rated 16th in the league, not bottom 5, while their offense was rated 10th in the league.
If Westbrook didn't miss the first month and Ibaka didn't miss the last quarter, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.I maintain that KD would have taken the same team to the playoffs. From 3/13 - 4/15 -Post the specific stats for when Ibaka was out (including the rating).
To be fair he was also 12-8 with Ibaka playing.
