No matter how you try to twist the shyt, KD caught the overwhelming majority of the shyt for previous team failures and would definitely catch shyt for missing the playoffs (no matter who was injured or not playing). That's fair if you acknowledge that KD is the superior player. All those trying to have it both ways can :camby:.
He didn't really. It was just that particular group, which were in the minority, were more vocal than everyone else. I mean it only makes sense that those dudes are more aggressive (pro-Westbrook) with their opinions than the ones who aren't.

Oh look the annual Paul George thread. Dude has been balling as of late, he'll come back to earth soon.
What's stopping him from continuing on? I mean it's hardly fair for you to compare what he's done in the past as evidence to use going forward when he's a better player and nearing his prime.

I'm just glad that I get to enjoy both of these players.
With Kobe retiring I'm happy that we have Curry, KD, and PG
This is a great group of players to watch,
the NBA is in good hands right now.

I can guarantee you'll find more posters on this board who believe that KD's style is more conducive to winning than Westbrook's - yet they don't speak out nearly as much.

That's like saying "I can guarantee you'll find more voters who believe that Romney would make a better president". So what? I am not capable of reading minds. I can only respond to that which expressed. And that is what we are talking about, what is expressed. And it wasn't posters on here that made the "Mr. Unrealiable" headline or pushed that narrative on a national stage during that series.

Durant might be the most underrated player on The Coli at the moment. He's still top 3 imo. Just wait until he gets a string of games and the Thunder go on a run.

Which is exactly how I came to the conclusion I did - saying that one group is more vocal than the other doesn't mean that group isn't vocal at all. Even despite those not being as vocal, there has always been an overwhelming narrative that Westbrook jacks up too many shots near the end of the game and fades Durant and the team out of the offense.

And what about the narrative surrounding Westbrook's [ill-advised, shot-chucking] play that has been pushed ever since he rose to stardom - which Durant and players in the league have often come to his defense.

baby, that was the old me
Why is Kawhi infallible on here?

5-16
3-15
5-13

in the last 3 games in the Clippers series. A true superstar would've been crucified for those numbers. nikka got locked up by Matt Barnes in his first test as the #1 option. George is better.

So Matt Barnes isn't a elite defender?

You really gonna sit here and act like Westbrook has taken comparable or greater heat or as if the narrative surrounding him has been as big or bigger than that surrounding Durant? Where is Westbrook's "Mr. Unreliable" headline (he had his struggles in that series too, especially in OT) but his shot jacking (and missing) wasn't the prevailing narrative nationally now was it? No it was all about Durant. And like I said that is fine as long as it is consistent.
