That's not an explanation. How can he literally defy gravity? Saying 'he is an alien' does not explain it. Say something about his boots/cape/body chemistry etc.

What was the highlight? I don't remember, when Supes through Zod through 8 walls after Zod threw him thru 7?The action was TERRIBLE?

I saw it twice. Liked it more the first time. The 2nd time I realized I was watching a different movie than I was expecting. Hard to explain, but it just didn't feel like Superman to me.
Still a good movie, tho. I expect the next one to be greatness.

saying he's an alien does explain it. if a bird can defy gravity i don't see why an alien can't. especially since its science fiction any way

Yeah the word 'science' in the phrase signifies there would be some. A bird has you know physical characteristics that allow it to fly, wings. Supes looks just like us but when he what thinks about flying he does?

You could go on and on about why this movie was trash but stans wont look past the pretty visuals.
- Superman was a homontional mute, c00n with no original thought of his own.
- The film's theme didnt match the actual movie. I mean if you go out your way to make allusions to Jesus actually make the man character likable, at the very least give him a voice.
- Pa Kent is made no sense at all. Zod, a man programed to protect Krypotanians, started at war with Krypotanians to save Krypotanians from Krypoton from blowing up while it was happening
- Idgaf about Superman killing Zod but why is he crying about it? How many humans died during their fight? Didnt Superman comment genocide on his own people in an earlier scene right after he says he isnt Krpotanian...why does he care about Zod?

MoS was made to be the polar opposite of Superman returns and it completely overlooks why Superman returns "flopped". Only difference being of course is MoS has more punches which is a crowd pleaser "see Transformers series"

'fiction' says its science shyt that they made up. hes an alien so he can fly. they made it up. its fiction. not sure if you're serious or what
I can't put my finger on it.....but my gut tells me it was trash.....so it was.
here's my problem with man of shyt
the plot line was horribly rushed , the characters were introduced poorly outside of clarks parents, the villain was just generic, the story was pretty dumb
also the part
there forced love scene between clark and louis lane
most people get hyped up with crazy action sequences and great set pieces .. the action was great and top-notch, but that doesn't make the movie great. Outside of the action the movie was 2/10...everything seemed out of place.

the krypton world is on the verge of being destroyed, yet they have time to punish and charge zod and banish him from the deadly planet

I loved MoS and it stabs head and shoulders above all the other movies as the best superhero/comic book movie of the year.
The people who hate on it fall into 6 different camps:
1. The ones who wanted the same Superman from the old Reeves flicks despite shytting all over that exact thing when it was given to them in that horrible Superman Returns travesty.
2. The "Superman is Perfect" contingent who only want a flawless Boy Scout version of the character so they cry like babies at the concept of a flawed rookie Superman who would snap Zod's neck.
3. The devout Superman haters who think the character is corny and will never like a movie featuring him.
4. The Snyder haters who hate the dude's directing style.
5. The Goyer haters who claim to hate his writing but love Blade 1 & 2 and the Nolan Batman flicks that Goyer wrote.
6. Marvel fanboys who hate any superhero/comic book movie that isn't Marvel.

i feel you on that, and i certainly didnt think the movie was trash.
i thought they flew through the early parts of the movie and lois's angle throughout felt a bit forced.
however, i think now that they have progressed past that point(origin) they can put together a really great follow up. the framework is there
