What about 92-96 tho? Where are the rings without Kobe?

Shaq had prime penny And just kept getting swept. And Compare Pau from 08-on to 00-04 Kobe,05-06 Wade or 95-96' penny is night and day

Penny never reached his prime, he was still young, and when he had his own team in 97 injuries fukked him over.

Also remember Shaq was very young back then as well and he had to go against teams led by Prime Mike, and Prime Dream.

You have to place context around these arguments. The 96 bulls and 95 Rockets are a lot more formidable than the 09 magic and 10 Celtics.

You have to place proper context into these arguments

Bean is top 5 IMO easily! And the 2nd best SG and player of all time. Yes he was better than Magic and Kareem and Duncan and whoever else you want to compare.

I've said this before, Kobe from about 2004 - 2008 was IMO the perfect basketball player.

I hate you nikkas!!!!!!

A man called Hawk, the above is exactly what i'm talking about as to why people "shyt" on Kobe. This man verbal has the audacity to say Kobe is better than Magic, Kareem, and Duncan.

THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN!!!!

The only debatable part of that statement is Kareem and possibly Magic, though Magic himself has said that Bean is a better player than him.

Duncan?! NO! HELL NO!! fukk NO!!! Kobe has owned Tim Duncan's soul throughout his playing career, so that's null and void.

It's not audacious to say that Kobe is better than Magic or Duncan, that's more a matter of taste than anything IMO. All of them have multiple championships, multiple finals MVPs, the only thing Kobe doesn't have is the multiple MVP awards. They all have vastly different styles of play and play at different positions.

And even if some Kobe fans say off the wall shyt that doesn't justify downplaying what Kobe has accomplished throughout his career.

I said before Lebron James fans irritate the fukk out of me, but I never use that as justification to downplay how great of a player he is. MJ fans go overboard with shyt at times too (mostly by shytting on Scottie Pippen) but you'll never see me saying he aint the greatest 2 guard to ever play the game or that Kobe is better than him.

Lol I'm tired of the "young" argument, shaq was a superstar and a top 5 player they just could never get it done in the playoffs. They got swept almost every year. Penny never reached his full potential because of injuries but he was still a superstar in 95' and 96'(ALL NBA 1st team both years, top 3 in MVP In 96').

The facts are shaq had talented teams on the magic and the late 90's lakers it wasn't until Bryant became a superstar in 00, and all the other great Centers of the 90's fell off that he could start getting chips. No MVPs/No Finals MVP's without Kobe, but the other way around.....

It's not arguable.

Magic said during Jordan's 3rd championship run that he was GOAT only after winning 2. Would you agree with that? Magic says a lot of things but we know he does it for entertainment.

How has he "owned" tim duncan in playoffs when

A) They don't play the same position
B) They wasn't guarding eachother EVER
C) Kobe wasn't even the best player on his team while Duncan was for his.

You seem to forget that they only went heads up in the playoffs once when Kobe was the best player for his team. That was in 08 when the lakers beat them. If your argument is Kobe is better for that lone playoff series win, i can say Nash owns kobe soul in the playoffs so hence he must be better than him as well, or Dirk.

shyt, during that time Shaq had been named one of the 50 greatest players to have EVER played the game and his two biggest accomplishments at that point was a rookie of the year award and an NBA finals appearance.

You can be tired of it all you like but it remains tried and true, young teams don't win NBA championships PERIOD. Look at this year's thunder as a prime example of that. You need to experience failure as a team before glory.

Look at the 80's pistons, Late 80's early 90's bulls as examples. They had to go through growing pains before they could win.

Penny was great but still was scratching the surface. He was 23 and 24 those years and never reached his physical prime (27-28-29) being healthy.

The facts are Shaq, had talent in LA but an incompetent head coach who couldn't utilize the talent correctly. It took getting a coach with already 6 championships, and a maturing Bryant, Jordan retiring, Dream being flabby and sick, Utah stepping back, Duncan being hurt in the 00 playoffs, before the lakers could get to story.

Kobe is better then Duncan too. Both elite 2 way players but Kobe is so much better offensively in the RS and PS it gives him the edge. Plus he has a better resume and in the head to head matchups Bryant was almost always the better player between them.

The biggest thing in those spurs/Lakers wars were the 4th quarters where Kobe dominated and Duncan was inconsistent. 2002 his 3 Straight 10 point 4th quarters was the key to winning that series 4-1

Shaq should not of been named one of the 50 greatest player at that time. He only played 3-4 years and even though it was right, i felt they took a spot away from someone who was more deserving at that point in Shaq's career
