How ia Disney getting MCU right but can't get star wars right?

They keep the MCU lore but destroy the star wars EU.

Why are these marvel movies so epic but the star wars another billion dollar franchise is so far behind and a dud at this point?

Do you think Disney sees this discrepancy in their studios?

Star wars aint had a villian like Thanos since empire strikes back.

Because Feige and'em actually mapped out what they wanted to do in this 10 year span.

Kennedy doesn't have a direction...and is letting the directors do whatever the fukk they want....and say what you want about the prequels, but George at least had a rough idea what he wanted to do with them

By what measure? Each movie brought in over a billion. The vast majority of the audience and critics enjoy the films.These films are successful from most objective viewpoints.

Now with that being said, I don't like the direction. I want Kennedy fired, and replaced by someone that can have a 10-15 year non-reactionary plan. The OT trio should not be failures. I want other eras rather than binging on OT and sequel era. I want the old republic. I want the EU to continue as a parallel universe. Bring in a guy like Filoni who can add things to star wars that feels authentic and fits in the galaxy.

She’s not letting directors do what the fukk they want though. She’s already fired 3 directors for doing that and had another director come in after the fact to fix Rogue 1.

When you say “all”, you do realize you are only talking about 2 mainline movies and Rogue 1. We don’t know about Solo yet.

They hired the duo of Lord & Miller for Solo, then fired them for making the movie in the style that they are known for.

Also...... Disney with Marvel has the luxury of years of source material to use and reconstruct.

Star Wars doesnt seem to have a solid direction for source material, they declined the ideas that George Lucas had and trying to go their own way and do their own thing.

But they still draw inspiration from there here and there, eg Thrawn and Death Troopers (which were like Dark Troopers)

Because Marvel are the ones making the movies still. Disney is just bankrolling it. Not the case with Star Wars. Disney has their hands all in the pot. Marvel told them to stay out the kitchen.

Because they kept MCU's "Extended Universe" history and threw Star Wars' Extended Universe away.

They lost betting on the fact that Star Wars fans would only be fans of the Star Wars movies and nothing else, and they could just do what they wanted and do it poorly.... and it would be accepted because hey, Star Wars.
