How I Met Your Mother Season 9: The Final Season

Barney getting 1 of the random women he slept with pregnant, make sense.

My problem with this is that it took his character development and just destroyed it.

We saw him grow, after meeting his estranged father, he realized that he could love, that he wasn't broken, saw him with Nora, Quinn then finally with Robin, they spent the entire season with him finally letting go of his past and ready to settle down had an entire episode where he had one final night out and passed along the playbook, he was done with his life as a single guy.

Then 10 minutes into the episode, not only has he split with Robin because she travels too much, but he's back to his old ways The fukk was the point of all that development, these relationships if they're gonna undo it all in 10 minutes

But I'll say again, him using this line on some random chick, then him using this when his daughter was born:

You are the love of my life, everything I have, and everything I am, is yours, forever.

Is probably one of the best moments on the show, but unfortunately it came after a bumbling of the character.

Same with Robin, let's spend 8 years showing her attempt to grow and finally put love over her career, spend the entire season showing the weekend of her wedding her battling that and finally coming to realize that love was more important and that Barney was the right man for her, then 10 minutes later have her ask Barney if he wants a divorce because she travels too much for work

And this happened because they stuck to an ending that they decided on 7 years ago.

Nah, Robin and Quinn had a spat when she found out he used to date Robin, but they fixed that. They broke up when they came with prenups and they realized they didn't trust each other.

She fukked up his relationship with Nora though

I was gonna give the show a 2nd chance to see how they wrapped it all up. But once I heard the mother was gonna die I said fukk it. Ted and robin ending up together does nothing for me, I tried of that pairing a longtime ago.

I watched 2 episodes the past 2 seasons. One from earlier this season and the finale, felt like I really didn't miss anything since a lot of character development was thrown into the bushes 10 minutes into the finale

Barney back to smashing randoms

Robin still putting career in front of love

Marshall still not happy with his job

At least Ted seems to have moved on fro....Ted holding a blue horn outside Robin's window again

I wouldn't say so. it was somewhat obvious the possibility of Ted and robin being together was going to happen. Barney came full circle and started being decent again by having a daughter and Marshall and Lilly's storyline continued as expected. Nothing was that shocking the way it seemed. With Dexter, they just randomly off deb, and then they take a cop out by placing him in the middle of fukk knows where. That entire final season with that lady and his mother issues was ridiculous and didn't feel like a final season or that the show came full circle. They should've had him either pass the torch or be killed same way he did it. The symbol of that blue horn Ted had from the beginning and appearing in the finale showed they knew that was important from the start. Even on breaking bad with Walt growing as a character and dieing beside the equipment that made him who he was, showed the symbolism of the sentimental value it had on him. When did they mention on Dexter that deb was likely to die or this paul Bunyan motherfukker was interested in cutting trees instead of bodies.
